I don't know about that -- I suspect that many people feel the way I do about fandom, whether they articulate it or not. But thank you! You're a big factor in why I've stuck around, and it's always lovely to hear from you. ♥
this is the second, maybe third, such post i've seen alluding to this same subject, but the original post/incident that spawned this must not be in one of my active fandoms because i have no idea what it's actually about.
ANYWAY. i completely agree with your statement that you post in hope, not expectation. of course everyone posts in the hopes that they get at least ONE comment; that's the nature of posting fic for public consumption, after all. but the notion of anyone laying down demands for comments or anything of that nature? absurd.
also? you're stuck with me and my comments for the foreseeable future. ♥
Exactly, what you said! I always hope I'll get a response when I post something, but if I don't then it's because whatever I wrote sucked, or it was about something people don't care about, or it was on a day where everyone was busy, etc etc. It's never because I lost out on something I ought to be entitled too, good grief!

I know the post/incident that spawned this (yesterday right?) and as a mostly-lurker who loves your fic but who doesn't always have time to manage my unwieldy flist or read things right when they're posted, thanks for understanding that even the lurking means we are fans! just quiet ones. and thanks for being lovely and also gracious rather than demanding/insecure. it sends good vibes all around.
Quiet fans are so welcome here! ♥ I totally hear you on the lack of time -- there is more good fic out there by writers I like than I could possibly have time to read, I always have a to-read list as long as my arm.
This seems like a good opportunity for me to thank you for reading and commenting on my fic. You're the only person who does so without prompting, and it means the world to me. I don't really expect anything back in terms of my stories either (the "hope, not expectation" line you picked is a good one), but when I spend days or weeks on something, just one little comment makes me feel like it was completely worth it.
So thank you for hanging in there with me, and thank you also for having such a positive attitude in terms of your own stories and fandom involvement. Reading about BNFs who delete their journals simply because they don't feel like their six-hundred followers are commenting enough makes posts like this even better.
♥! Sweetheart, I adore your writing, and I live in hope that you get discovered by more people, because you deserve it! I'm totally excited about your upcoming lgbtfest fic, on that note, and I realise I've forgotten to ask what fandom it's in?
You are really too sweet! I'm blushing really hard right now, ha ha.
My fic's in the Supernatural fandom, which is probably unsurprising. Dean's FtM, and this is the first time I've written a trans character, so I'm excited and nervous all at once.
Hee! Tonight is the night where I glomp embarrassingly all over everyone. :D
And, well, *flail*. I am so thrilled by how many trans and genderqueer stories are out there already, a mere few days into the fest. \o/ And Dean as FtM especially just makes me wriggle with glee a little bit.
