It is truly very, very sad. He's from Vancouver and just for that I would feel a connection to him, and of course he was a charming, lovely young man who seemed to live a fairy-tale life with his on-screen sweetheart. I don't why this seems to make it harder, but it does. Poor Lea, to have to go through all this, and also having to think about hiding from the media and the fans.
I can't believe how much hate has been going out to Darren and others for appearing in public. Typical kids who know nothing of commitments and contractual obligations. Like they would get a day off work to go for a friend's funeral, much less grieve in peace and quiet beforehand. I mean, they might, but they might not.
Anyway. Hard to believe that he is really gone. Part of me wishes that this, ironically, tragically, will lead the show to its former glee-ful self, when it really was about opening yourself up to joy and not what it has become.

It will be very interesting to see if this changes Ryan's mind on what makes good drama!
