My mother has the absolute WORST luck when it comes to husbands. Seriously, check out this fucking history here:

My Dad, My mother's 1st husband. After a history of erratic and violent behavior between the two of them, they file for divorce. April 23, 1993, my Dad kills himself, 1 week before the divorce was finalized. Mother halfheartedly conceals joy.

My youngest sisters Dad. He met my mom (courtesy of me and my BFF [fuck you, I was 10!!]) after we got annoyed at the morons she was bringing home. He was a nice man. Puerto Rican, had a couple of grown daughters, but treated us all like we were his kids (it was just me and my two other sisters at the time.) They get engaged and all is well. Mother finds out she's pregnant with little sis. April 25, 1994 almost exactly one year after my dad dies, this nice man has a heart attack while my mother is in the shower and passes away in his sleep. April 25 is also the date we buried my Dad on.

As the years go by my mother brings in a series of rapists, drug addicts and complete and utter morons in the home, losing custody of her children due to the direct actions of one of them. Unfortunately, she never married or became engaged to these wastes of skin (rotten luck). A couple of years ago, she meets what I am told is a fairly nice man. I've never met him so I don't know. They get married April 23 of 2007. I was not fricking pleased, not because of the fact that she remarried, but because of the date she did it on. Even if she didn't give a fuck about it, she should have still respected the fact that three of her children had a father DIE on this date. Neither me, nor the other sisters in question went to the wedding. My mother and her new husband appeared happy and in love and all that mushy shit. I still hadn't met the dude, but my sisters spoke very highly of him, which was unusual.

My mother called me at 5 am to tell me the police found him dead in the hallway of an apartment building at 2:30 am.

Would it be tasteless and mean to start a betting pool on the lifespan of anyone else she marries?
