Christmas Eve Eve

Dec 23, 2012 14:04

The two day gift wrapping siege was successful, and over ten hours, more than 40 gifts were wrapped and plopped under the tree (except for the ones stuffed in the Beetle's stocking!). The gift-wrapping was interrupted by a trip with SubHub and our son to see The Hobbit, which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was a rip-roaring, rollicking good time. I loved being in Middle Earth again. And Martin Freeman was golden as Bilbo Baggins. ~pets him ~

SubHub has braved the insane crowds to finish the last of the grocery shopping, and I have been reading up on how to cook my Christmas Eve dinner beef rib roast. I'm going for the slow roast method with a hot oven blast at the end to put a lovely crust on the roast.

I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed the lovely build-up to Christmas this year. I put the credit for that squarely on the shoulders of SubHub, who has managed and planned everything for everyone, so that we are in good spirits and looking forward to our family celebration.

I hope any holiday preparations you are making are moving along according to plan. I am thinking of and loving my friends a great deal today.

Peace and goodwill, my dears.
