I spent last weekend in Paris, and it was extremely pleasant. I enjoy being a tourist! I wish I could speak French. I think an article by Harold Kuhn and Nuemann/Mogernstern's book of crazy has saved game theory for me. The distractions that Europe and these mathematical universes afford me have gone a long way towards easing my mind about my pending graduate applications. I even think many of my applications were technically incomplete, as I neglected to send transcripts from LSE but listed that as an institution I attended.
I got accepted to Rochester! They have given me a tuition waver and I am on the waitlist for a stipend. This is tremendous news! The probability I will spend my entire life in or around universities is converging to 1.
