i was asked what love is.
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
honestly? i dont believe that i'd be able to come up with an answer myself. but someone once shared with me what true love is was to him.
he said, "I think love is when you decide to put your heart out for someone you like, and you get really vulnerable. The person who knows that she's in power, and can choose to either accept or reject it. If she really likes you, then she'll come to your heart, embrace it, and make you feel better. It's magical in a sense that you put yourself on the line, known that you can get hurt, but you don't care. Because all you really care about is this person. You become really selfless and in turn willing to give up your dignity and everything else just for her, even though you know how much it'll hurt if everything backfires."
there's truth in that, really. but.
love is mercy, hurt, selflessness, irrationality, me, peace, war, comfort, pain, respect, disregard, you, sharing, rivalry, honesty, deception, simple, complicated, them, destiny, luck, pride, acceptance, negligence, true, false, timeless, ever-changing, trust, a lie, oxygen, meaningless, knowledge, ignorance, poetry, science, happiness, sorrow, commitment, forgiveness, hatred, innocence, age, real, an illusion, forever, fleeting.
