[Background]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Pilgrim#Plot_summary[Personality] Scott Pilgrim is a very silly person. He definitely does not act his age at all, and in the snippets of his high school life there is very little difference between adult Scott and teen Scott. His speech pattern also sounds like someone younger. He is very happy-go-lucky, mostly just focusing on enjoying himself. Scott loves playing video games, and can be seen in many panels with some sort of controller in his hands. He even has dreams about video games, and a dream about playing video games. Naturally, this tends to show up in his speech as references to video games and their mechanics. He is also a generally social person, interacting with his friends and going to parties a lot. He’s not much of a troublemaker, though, and he doesn’t even drink at said parties. Most of the time. He’s also kind of an idiot, or at least, bad at thinking before speaking. He says a lot of stupid stuff and fails to notice some things throughout the comic. He’s also god awful at comebacks. Awful to levels previously unknown to mandkind with gems like “At least I... wait... something... you... insult...” Wit is not Scott’s friend. He can also be pretty stubborn, which is why he tries to make comebacks even though he knows they’ll fail. This is also part of the reason he continues to go after Ramona, even with having to defeat the evil exes and all of her emotional baggage.
Scott is also a pretty awkward person. This can be attributed to the fact that he does not think before he speaks, and often ends up saying dumb things. This is generally a source of humor in the books, though, and doesn’t end up getting him into too much trouble. His awkwardness is part of his charm, rather than a massive character flaw. The fact that he doesn’t think things through, on the other hand, is a pretty major character flaw. One that haunts him through the entire run and makes most of his trouble outside of the evil ex battles. In fact, his lack of thinking can lead him to doing some pretty dickish moves. Starting to date Ramona while he was still dating Knives is probably the biggest example of this aspect of him. However, Scott’s definitely a good guy at heart, it’s just that he can also be a very stupid person. It’s not that he’s trying to hurt anyone, he just ends up doing so via his lack of thought. And since he’s also got some memory troubles, he can forget how bad of a move he did, and sometimes he even doesn’t realize it until people point it out to his face. By the end of the sixth book, however, Scott has realized this issues and dealt with them a little, through his battle with Gideon. Since Gideon had the same major flaws Scott did, Scott was able to face himself. His use of the Power of Understanding is a testament to this fact.
Going off of the memory issues, many might just think Scott is stupid, and thus has memory issues because he can’t hold onto things that happen. However, that is not the case. His memory issues mostly began after he broke up with Envy. This event was very shocking to poor Scott, and caused him a lot of trauma. After that, he forgot all the bad things he had done. And in the present, he starts to ignore them, as well. Of course, his bad things come back to haunt him, as the Nega Scott, who is quite literally the personification of all his mistakes and insecurities. Scott’s fusion with the Nega Scott in volume six means that he is finally ready to accept what he’s done and what he fears, however, and thus is a major event in Scott’s character development over the books. He’s still a derp, but he’s much less of a thoughtless idiot.
In the end, Scott is a major derpy derp. He is a well meaning person, but his lack of thought and awkwardness can get him into a lot of trouble and make him seem like a jerk. He’s kind of an idiot and a slacker as well, but all in all, he’s a good guy, and by the end of the comics he’s finally started to develop into a functional member of society and fix his problems.
[Specialties/Abilities] Scott Pilgrim is a very good fighter. His world operates under semi video game rules, so he does all sorts of crazy things like huge jumps and air combos, and also survives equally insane things like being thrown into a building. He can also pull swords out of his chest when he realizes something, namely when he says he loves Ramona and when he understood Gideon, causing him to level up. He can also use 1-Ups if he dies, and apparently can use save points, though he never got to do it in the comic. He can also go into subspace to use as a shortcut between places. He’s basically from a beat ‘em up game, and now that he actually has a game, he technically is.
Oh, and he also has the ability to use subspace doors to travel quickly between places, as a result of Gideon’s “glow”. Of course, I don’t know if Som HAS any subspace doors, but if they do Scott would be able to utilize them.
[Affection] No romance! Scott's taken and trying not to mess it up this time.
[Fighting] Yes, go ahead and fight if you want! Scott's like a character from a beat em up game, and he can occasionally get swords from out of his chest. Somehow.
[Other Permissions] I don't really care, do whatever. But if it's something really drastic, I'd like a heads up first!
[Other Facts] His rating is awesome!
