"St-Stop it!" Jessica heard a disgusting giggle and was most horrified to realize that it'd come from her. Her smile turned to a glare, as she reached up to grab Jinki's wrist. The daisy between his fingers hung dangerously close to her blushing cheek, almost perfect tickling range. The smile never left his lips as he let the daisy slip a little from his fingers, dropping it closer and clos-
"Jinki..." Her voice took on a warning tone, causing him to sigh and retract his hand. Glaring, she sat up on the grass, looking over at him and whispering in a superior tone. "That's better." With a flip of her hair over her shoulder, she surveyed the rest of the park, virtually empty of visitors. Her eyes fell back to Jinki, who was examining the flower in his hand closely. He looked so...harmless, sitting there, staring at that flower that she suddenly felt bad. She suddenly felt the need to explain herself. "I don't like being tickled. Especially in the face. Specifically with flowers. Gross dirty weedy flowers that probably have gallons of pestici-" Jinki's soft laughter cut her off. "What's so funny?" She huffed.
Jinki smiled, sitting up and looking at her squarely. "You really hate letting go of control, don't you?" She blinked, watching in awe as he tucked the daisy behind his ear, smiling brightly at her.
She sat, dazed for a moment before coming to her sense and shaking her head. "N-No. I just don't like being tickled."
"It's a lack of control, being tickled. You're not in control of your senses or your reaction to it." Jinki laughed softly again. "Lay down and close your eyes. I want to try something."
Jessica's eyes bugged considerably, and she was shaking her head before he'd even finished his sentence. "I refuse."
"Then you admit to defeat." Jinki said smugly, shrugging with a sickening amount of nonchalance, sending Jessica to her back in no time flat, eyes screwed shut and hating her inability to accept defeat, even knowing that it was a trap to begin with.
"Do whatever. I know I'll prove you wrong." A smirk spread across her features, her shoulders shaking once with a humorless chuckle. "Just like I always have."
Jinki nodded, even though she couldn't see it, and grumbled lowly. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just promise not to open your eyes."
Jessica scoffed. "Just promise not to put a caterpillar on my face or anything like that."
Jinki rolled his eyes. "Yeah. Cause I'm a 12 years old. You know wha-"
"Just do it Jinki!" She growled, her eyes pinched tightly shut.
He laughed, nodding. "Fine fine fine, as you wish." With a small wave of his hand over her face to make sure she wasn't peeking, he pulled the daisy from behind his ear, holding it delicately by the stem as he held the flower to her arm, dragging the petals down the expanse of her skin slowly. He watched her reaction closly, tsking when it looked like she was about to open her eyes. "You're about to prove me right..."
Immediately, her eyes squeezed shut again, a firm line of determination set in her lips. Jinki grinned at this, moving the flower to other arm and repeating his movements. Jessica swallowed, the noise oddly loud in the unexpected stillness of the park, and Jinki's mouth quirked up at the corner, like this reaction inexplicably.
"Am I allowed to talk?" She whispered softly, and Jinki nodded his head before remembering and whispering back, "Of course." Jessica inhaled slowly. "This is really very disturbing Jinki. Is this some sort of feti-" Her mouth closed immedately when the daisy passed over her lips swiftly.
"Shhh. I changed my mind. You're not allowed to talk." He whispered again, laughing quietly.
Jessica exhaled through her nose, annoyed as she kept her eyes closed, feeling Jinki drag the flower from her lips down her jawline and then from her neck to her collarbone. She flexed her fingers, tapping into her finite reserve of patience and self-control, silently cursing Jinki in her mind as she felt her skin heat up in embarrassment.
"You really don't like this?" He asked, and she could hear the smile in his voice, knowing he thought he'd won.
"No." She replied curtly, closing her mouth again quickly, not wanting to eat daisy for lunch. She gulped when she suddenly felt his presence closer, his face undoubtedly inches from her own.
"Why not?" He asked, and her eyes almost flew open, suddenly certain of the small amount of space between them. Most specifically, the space between their lips. "Tell me..." He whispered softly, and the warmth of his breath brushed against her lips, almost good enough to be considered a kiss in and of itself.
"T-Too close..." She whispered back, eyes still shut tightly, wanting nothing more than to open them before realizing she should be wanting him to get back instead. "How strange..." She said out loud before she could stop herself.
"What?" Jinki asked in his normal tone, and the suddenness of the change was enough to snap her back into reality.
Her eyes flew open, taking half a second to find his and shooting up with a glare, only to knock her forehead right against his.
20 minutes later, they both sat in the nurse's office, cradling twin ice packs against their foreheads with sour expressions. The nurse, having just told both that neither had a concussion, watched them from behind her desk. Her judgement spilled over the frames of her glasses as she shook her head, stamping papers and mumbling something about "kids these days..." When she finally looked down, focusing on the files in front of her, Jinki let out a near silent mumble from the side of his mouth.
"Control freak."
"Pervert." Jessica fired back quickly.
"Ice princess."
"Dick."
"Future automated housewife."
"Future sex offender listee."
"Strawberry Pocky."
"Neon Orange Polyster Blend Vest Wearing Gas Jockey."
"...Beautiful Smart Adorable Jinki T-Shirt Wearing-"
"...I hate you."
