Scouting Out Viewing Sites for the Leonids
Tomorrow, I plan to load up the dog and some supplies into the NEW CAR [1] and head out in a west-northerly direction to scout out sites from which the Leonids may be viewed.
My first (and only planned) destination is Leominster State Forest. I hope to find a nice place thereabouts that would afford good views of the sky...it's also near Waaaaaaaaaa-waaAAAAaaachusett Mountain. I have heard that off-season, it is open for hiking, so perhaps that's another option.
Weather forecasts are predicting partly cloudy skies Tuesday night into Wednesday, so I'm hopeful. Of course, they are also predicting 27°F temps.
