So, if anyone is interested, there is an insane plot that just started today at
kannagara_rpg! We've been playing for the past month and building it up, so it's pretty intense. Pretty much, it's a war plot, people! Akatsuki is going to obliterate Konoha. Yes. Again. I AM EXCITED ABOUT THIS. Okay, not the obliteration, but the plot! It's going to be so insane

You know, Kuri, going into this game, I have to admit, I had my doubts. I've never done a multi-player community RP before. My RPing had previously been limited to one-on-one AIM/MSN RPing done in real time, which is rather different. Also, I know that RPs can be bastions of wank; let's not kid ourselves.
Having said that, I am very grateful that Kannagara has been my first experience with semi-panfandom role-playing. I believe the smallness of the game has been a huge assist in making me feel right at home. While I want it to grow, I hope it grows organically, and gradually. Everyone knows everyone, and that's comfortable. Furthermore, I never in my wildest dreams imagined there would be an RPG which would be suitable to the kind of writing that I prefer to do. I don't think I've realized -- until after I had RPed at Kannagara for a little while -- how much my work would probably not have been suitable on most games. Frankly, I like very intensive writing, and I feel many RPs are a bit lighter in their content.
And, honestly? There's nothing wrong with that. Not everything has to be exhaustively immersive, and I like a little light crack as much as anyone, but the truth is, knowing I have a home among a bunch of intense and wordy people like myself is kind of exciting. I guess what I am saying is, I feel that my voice -- as a writer -- has a home in this role-play. It makes me feel I belong. Simple as that.
So, basically, thanks everyone. It's proving to be a great experience.
