Last Thursday I cut my yearbook signing short, bailed on end of the year presentations and missed out on class 'parties' in order to leave right after lunch to drive to Utah for a softball tournament. We piled into a huge 15-passenger van, cramming in seven people and all of our gear, and by 1:30pm we were on the road. The car ride seemed like an eternity (which it practically was... about 12 hours long) because we did not arrive to our destination until 4:00am on Friday (only to sleep for 2 hours to be able to be at our game at 7:00am!!)
This tournament was a qualifier for Nationals in August, and in order to qualify, you have to come in first place... Unfortunately we came in second (I'll save you the details so as not to bore you) which means we have 2 more chances to qualify, first chance: the state tournament in two weeks (which is typically more difficult to qualify for since So Cal is like the hot bed for good softball teams) and our second chance: in Las Vegas! (oh man it was 117 degrees last year at the tournament, however the night life is a little better there...haha)
Yea, we thought we had it in the bag, but the goddamn Arizona Sun Cats took it away from us... and by the way, what the Hell is a Sun Cat?
So we left Sunday morning, stopped at New York, New York to ride the roller coaster and play in the 'ESPN Zone' while my parents and coach tried to win some money gambling. Got home around 11:00pm on Sunday, those four days seemed more like I was gone for a week, damn long car ride... meh
Happy Summer! (it still hasn't hit me yet, I still think I'm gonna have to go back to school sometime soon) So Del Mar Fair tommorrow?...
