From May 27th to June 2nd

May 27th to May 31st

That Monday Jun had a meeting that was meant to last until late into the night. Miyako told him she will sleep at her room, first time in a while. She wished him luck and came back to her duties. Jun got in to the car with Nino and felt grateful that he didn’t bring the dating Miyako issue. He wasn’t sure he could lie to Nino telling him that everything was alright.
    Because it wasn’t.
It was already 2 in the morning when Jun arrived at his house. Taro and Sabotarou were waiting for him at the door, and after a couple of minutes of playing with them, he got inside. Tired and sleepy. He reached his bedroom, taking his clothes in the way, and when he stood in front of his bed, he realized Miyako wasn’t there.
He knew why she wasn’t there. But he was already used to the shapes her body created under the duvet. He was already used to the ‘sleep well’ she said every night, and for the first time in a while Jun felt restless and alone in his room. He put on a bathrobe, and walked outside his room, across the house. He knocked at her door several times until she finally opened. Her door was locked “Jun, what are you doing?” Miyako didn’t ask further after seeing his anguished eyes. She invited him in and closed the door behind them. “Something happened?”
“No, I just…felt like coming here” Miyako stared at him with a thin smile on her lips that told him he could not fool her “Ok, I feel like something did happened, but if you don’t want to tell me, is alright. As long as you’re feeling better, is good enough for me” Miyako walked to her bed arranging her hair in a ponytail “Thank you for understand” Jun followed her and got inside the bed with her. Once he was snuggling against her chest, Miyako already asleep, but Jun still fighting against insomnia, a thought that had been fighting to come out finally make its appearance. What was this? What was he doing there, sleeping with someone that was completely unknown for him? What that man had told him could be a lie, but what was he doing to proof him wrong?
Jun had to remind himself that Miyako wasn’t who he thought she was. It was hard. Every single thing she did or said made him forget that fact, and it just drowned him in to her hypnotic existence.
He should be asking questions, looking for answers.
He should have kick Miyako out of his house.
    But he didn’t.
He accepted that possible truth about Miyako not feeling betrayed, but stupid. And everyday that passed he felt more and more stupid. Because he believed blindly in Miyako and because he was doing nothing to change it. This woman could be ready to do something to him.
    And he will take it.
And instead of moving away from her, just in case. He was moving closer. Holding to her. Feeling miserable by the thought of not having her there.
Something inside him was telling him that he was digging his own grave.

June 1st to June 2nd
Miyako woke up that Friday with a lot of things to do. She had to clean the library, help at the kitchen, and accompany Matsumoto and his dogs to the vet. She came back home late, and in a hurry she packed all her things and leave to her apartment.
She needed to know what new decisions Sakurai took, and the most important, she wanted to know what news Aiba had about Matsumoto's parent’s case.
But for being in such a hurry, she didn't see what important item she left behind.

Jun couldn’t remember the name of that book he read some years ago. He had the plot inside his mind, but couldn’t remember quite well what the name was. A visit to Google helped him find out, and he was happy to recall that he had that book in his library. To clear his mind and avoid the subject, he decided to engross himself with a good story. It would help him wait until Monday, when Miyako was back.
That Friday, he was so tempted to ask her if he could give her a visit. But he bit his tongue and said nothing. So he stayed at home, with his books. The second thing in the world, after Miyako, that brought him peace. The book he was looking for was up, in the highest shelf, next to his bible. He climbed the ladder and grabbed the book he was looking for. But something about the book next to his novel caught his attention. A black thing, not bigger than the middle finger, with a tiny red light. He grabbed the object and studied it with care. Looking at the foam covering half of the gadget, weighing it on his hand, trying to find out what it was. In the bottom of the object there were two short sentences. 2013, high fidelity.
    A microphone.
Now there were more questions inside his head than books inside that library.

Jun stared at the small object on his hands. Was it the only microphone inside his house? Who put it there? That last question had an obvious answer.
    Miyako.
He walked down the hallway, reached the empty kitchen and then reached Miyako’s door. With a shaking hand he turned the knob and opened the door, slowly, scared that he could find her there. But the room was empty. He sat on top of her bed and looked around. The door of her closet was open, but the only clothes inside were a couple of t-shirts. On her nightstand there was an empty bottle of water and a book. At first glance, nothing weird. Jun got up, ready to give a more thorough look to the room. He got down on his knees and looked under Miyako’s bed. He found a pair of sleepers and a file. He grabbed the file, opened it, and the first thing he saw was his own face staring at him.

From June 4th to June 17th

June 4th to June 8th
Miyako realized that this was her new comfort. The Matsumoto household was her new comfort. But more than that, been back to Matsumoto’s bed was her new comfort. That Monday when she arrived, Jun brought her inside his room, locked the door and pushed her on top of the bed. She could have fight against it, but it had been awhile since the last time they did it and Miyako was already craving it. So when Jun crawled on top of her, she was left with nothing to do but lock her arms around his neck and pull him closer for a kiss.
Both hold to each other with urgency and Miyako felt how Jun’s movements were harsh, frenetic and with little control. He grunted on her ear rather than moan and he had her hands pinned above her head with a rough hold of his hands. Miyako wasn’t bothered at all, but it called her attention.
As Jun was trusting inside her, he felt suddenly annoyed when Miyako closed her eyes and tilted her head to the side. He grabbed her face with force and turned her face back at him “Look at me!"
"Jun?!" His body stopped moving and his dark eyes were fixed on Miyako’s face, so serious and threatening "Do you love me?" If Miyako was scared, that fear dissipated as soon as she heard his words. She pushed Jun’s hair out of his face and smiled up at him. "I do" Jun grabbed her face with more force his eyes darker "Jun what is going on?" His voice broke when he repeated the question “You love me?”
“I love you” His stare remained the same, even after her confession. Miyako grabbed the hand that Jun had on her jaw, and with her other hand she caresses his neck and face with tenderness, trying to ease any worry going through Jun’s mind. She was conscious of how powerful her presence was when it came to Jun's calm. Jun closed his eyes absorbing the warmth of her touch and the calm it brought. Despite everything he knew. “Are you going to lie to me?” He asked, with a calmer voice. She took a deep breath, and answered him, as honest as she could “Yeah, I’m going to lie a lot, but never about how much I love you" Jun never felt so grateful for such an honest answer.

That Thursday Jun took a decision that Miyako didn’t know how to interpret. Without further advice he fired the other three women in charge of cleaning. She couldn’t avoid feel bad for them, but when she talked to them they looked rather relieved "We are too old for this anyway" They said between laughs, wishing her luck. Miyako didn't ask him why he did it.
Now by night they were the only ones in the house and they could move with more freedom. They were sharing a bottle of wine in the library, each reading a book, when Miyako’s cellphone rang. It surprised both of them. That never happened before. And it couldn’t be good.  She walked outside the library into the garden and picked up. It was Aiba “Miya-chan, next Friday! Next Friday they will be at Matsumoto’s door with an order to take him with them and examine every single centimeter of his house. Boss tried to give you more time but the people up there didn't allow him” Miyako stayed in silence for a while. Next Friday, that was only a week away. "Miya- chan?"
" Yes, sorry, I got it Aiba-kun, thanks for telling me, do me a last favor"
“Whatever you need” Miyako spoke in a whisper, and very quickly “All the information you have about Jun's parents case, print it and leave it at my house, my real house”.
“Got it, And Miya-chan?”
“Yeah?”
“Don’t worry, we will do something about this” Aiba hung up and leaved her there wondering what he meant. She muted her cellphone and turned around finding Jun on the other side of the closed window, looking at her. She walked back and opened the sliding window, facing Jun “You scared me” She tried to get in to the house, but Jun didn’t move from the window “Something happened at the office?” He asked calmly “Yes, they were asking me if I could cover a colleague”
“I see, come back inside, it’s cold”  Miyako grabbed the hand Jun was offering and let him pulled her back inside the house.

Her mind started to play possible scenarios inside her head, each of them looking for a way for Jun to run away from all this. Jun went to the fish market with one of the cookers and Miyako was left alone. She turned on the microphones so it didn't look as if she wasn’t working in the mission anymore. At least to her. She went to the garden and sat in the grass enjoying the beautiful view the garden gave her. Soon Taro and Sabotarou arrived and after a wet lick from both of them, they sat next to her, one on each side. She started to absently caress their heads, thinking about what she could do to save Matsumoto’s ass from what she brought to him.
She could help him run away. Leave the country maybe. Or hide him at someplace. Her grandmother house for example. It was in the countryside. He would have to hide for a while until everything calms down but he liked stay inside, right?. Of course, they would have to make an act. Say that Jun ran away because he found out about the mission. It would be horrible for her career, but she couldn’t care less. One small loss compared with her flawless record. Still, it didn't matter what she came up with, she would have to tell Jun the truth.
And that was the hardest part. But Jun deserved the truth, regardless what could happen with them.

After find that file under Miyako’s bed and read all the information they had about him, Jun was now sure what was Miyako doing there and who put her there. He wanted more information. He wanted to request the man more information, but something stopped him.
Miyako’s words when he asked her if she loved him.
If what she said was true, which he strongly believed it was, he wanted to hear the entire truth from her mouth.
Now he had to decide if he would keep acting oblivious to the fact that Miyako was a spy trying to get information or face the truth, her truth.
He was tired of act oblivious.
And the more he waited the more it would hurt in the future. "Sir, the cookers will leave soon, they ask if you need anything”
“No, they can go…come here after they leave” Miyako only smiled and walked outside his office. Ten minutes passed. And during those long ten minutes Jun fought with that part of him who wanted to stay acting ignorant. Who wanted to stay like that until the day Miyako decided to give him away. “Here I am Jun” She said closing the door behind her. He closed his eyes tightly when he heard Miyako’s voice, and after several deep breaths, he finally looked up and met Miyako’s eyes.
    Now or never.
“Sonoda Miyako, isn’t it?, I found the file under your bed…and I want you to give me a good reason to not call one of my guys and get you out of my life….forever”
