Chapter 7
Club activities were over, and Asuka was ready to go to Ohno’s konbini so she could meet with Jun. She packed her notes, bid goodbye to his classmates and walked across the school field with her eyes looking up at the sky and her ears muted by the tunes of Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band (1). With her eyes in the sky and her ears listening to Harrison’s guitar Asuka didn’t saw who was in front of her until she collide full face with that person chest. “Kayano, what are you doing?” Asuka immediately erased her concerned expression and changed it for a warm smile “Matsumoto-kun, you came”
“Yeah, we were so in awe last night that we didn’t exchange numbers, so I came to see you, I’ve been waiting for an hour what were you doing?” Jun looked annoyed, Asuka could tell that he didn’t enjoyed wait outside her school with all those stares on him “I had club activities, what? People looked at you too much?”
“Yeah, one of your teachers came to talk to me, when I told him that I was your boyfriend and I was waiting for you, he made a weird expression” Asuka grabbed Jun’s hand and started walk with him outside the school field, moving away from some curious stares “Maybe it was my art teacher, was he wearing red pants and a yellow shirt?”
“Yeah, it was quite shocking”
“It’s him, he is my home teacher too, he must have been surprised, oh you brought your girl!” Asuka stopped on front of Jun’s motorcycle with excitement pouring from the tip of her fingers “Yeah, I brought my girl wanna go for a ride?…like, to grab lunch or something?” Asuka was overly amused by Jun’s shy behaviour and wanted to push a little further “Matsumoto-kun, when are you going to stop calling me Kayano?” Jun rested his body against his bike and stared at Asuka with his arms crossed, a hint of amusement pulling one corner of his mouth “Ok, I’ll call you Asuka from now on, what about you?” This was her opportunity “I don’t know, how should I call you? Matsujun?”
“No” Asuka took a step closer “Matsumo-chan?” Jun gave her an I’ll kill you look “Matsun?” Jun didn’t answer “Junosuke?”
“That’s not even my name Kayano!” Asuka took a last step and stood very close to him “Jun?” Asuka didn’t get a verbal answer approving the name, just a kiss.
Jun drove his motorcycle with Asuka sitting behind him, feeling her strong grip around his body and the vibrations of her mouths, she was humming a song apparently. They arrived at a narrow street in Aoyama. Jun helped her getting off the motorcycle, and once she was down, with her hair and skirt arranged, Jun grabbed her hand and guide her until they reached a small store that said Karasu ramen (3) in the exterior “You like ramen?”
“I love ramen” Jun pulled her inside the store, and Asuka was amazed by it. The walls were covered with vintage posters of old yankee movies and Kishidan was playing in the sound system. Behind the counter, a guy with blond hair and several tattoos on his arms was skilfully straining some noodles “Senpai, I’m here” They guy looked up, and gave Jun a pleased smile “Matsujun! You’re here, it’s been a while, how’s Shirokin?”
“Alright, getting used to the new neighbourhood How’s the business?”
“Perfect…and, who’s this cute girl?” Asuka bowed at the guy and waited for Jun to introduce her “This is Kayano Asuka, my girlfriend” The guy jumped from behind the counter and grabbed Asuka’s free hand, shaking it with too much strength “Finally, Hi, I’m Goro, I’m Matsujun’s senpai, and the one who got him in to the yankee world, sorry about that” Asuka liked this guy for some reason “No need to apologise, It’s very nice to meet you” Goro guide them to their table, took their orders and leaved them in peace, promising that later he would tell her all about his kouhai. “So, introducing me to your senpai?”
“Yeah, he’s the father figure that I never had, and he’s just 2 years older than me, but still, he taught me a lot, he taught me how to fight but also how to deal with people without hitting each other, his mom took care of me several times, he was a great senpai, a great example, oh! And he gave me my motorcycle, so of course that I wanted him to meet you” Asuka didn’t know what else to say, her ears were already red, and that was good enough for Jun.
His bowls of ramen arrived, and they immediately dig in to them, after several slurps, Jun started to talk again “Did you thought a lot about me last night?”
“Shut up”
“Be honest, wasn’t that kiss the best one you ever had?” Asuka dropped her sticks and drank a sip from her coke “Well, from all the kisses I have had…that was surely the first one” Jun chocked with his own saliva “I was your first kiss?” Asuka nodded and let it sink in Jun’s head so he could grab the meaning of it. Because the kiss from last night wasn’t the first one with Jun. The realization in Jun’s eyes showed her that he had got it now “I was your first kiss, but last night kiss wasn’t our first kiss, fuck, I gave you your first kiss and then told you to stay away. Damn it, I’m the worst…now the memory of your first kiss is going to be fill with bad feelings”
”Jun, calm down, is not that bad”
“Don’t worry, I’ll erased that bad memory and exchange it with just good ones” Asuka smiled at him, cleaning the corner of his lips with a napkin “And you’re doing a really good job”

“Your mom?” Jun’s voice didn’t lack a bit of fear “Yeah she wants to meet you” Asuka’s tone sound somehow apologetic, she even bowed a little bit. This was the first time a boyfriend was introduced to her mom, she didn’t know how she would react, specially after that incident. But Jun fights with groups of men, how an innocent woman could scared him?. Surprisingly for Asuka, it did, she could see it.
They arrived at Asuka’s house pass 7 in the afternoon. She was already inside, Asuka could tell by the loud and overwhelming sounds of Oh Fortuna from Carmina Burana (3), which made everything so much more uncomfortable and scary for Jun and a tiny bit amusing for Asuka.
Asuka got in with her keys, and found her mother in the kitchen pealing apples. “Mom, here, I brought your son in law” Jun looked at Asuka with surprised eyes and then at her mom, who was rather amused by Jun’s expression “Matsumoto-kun, nice to meet you” Jun bowed at her and gave her a very polite salute, Asuka pulled him inside the kitchen, indicate him to sit at the table and brought him a glass of water, the three of them were in silence, Asuka looked at him from the other side of the kitchen, grinning, and Jun wanted to cross the room and erased that grin with a kiss. “Asu-chan would you go outside and check if it is raining?”
“Mom, I get it, just don’t say something unnecessary to Jun ok?” Asuka walked outside not without patting Jun’s shoulder in her way out whispering a good luck. Jun tried to stop her but it was futile. Asuka’s mom stayed in silence for a minute until the last apple was free from its peal. “Want an apple Matsumoto-kun?”
“Sure ma’am” She carefully sliced one of the apples, fetched a plate and a fork and posed it in front of Jun. He brought the first slice of apple to his mouth and waited for her to talk “I’m glad you’re dating my girl…finally…she’s a good girl”
“Yes she is ma’am, I feel really lucky to have her” She felt as smiling with Jun’s words, but she had to keep her act on “Matsumoto-kun, I get what you do, and I’m not going to judge, because if my girl likes you it must be for something, but if she gets hurt, if she gets in to one of your fights, I’ll hunt you, and with this knife, I’m going to cut what you have down there, got it?”
“Yes ma’am, I promise I’ll do nothing but protected her from that side of me”
“It’s not a side of you Matsumoto-kun, it’s what you are, and I know you are not ashamed of it, you shouldn’t, but if you need it, Asuka will come in your rescue, you know that, just…you know what I mean, try to keep her far away from those fight ok? And she’s so pretty, I don’t want something to happen to that cute face of hers” Jun had to agree with that, he straightened his back adopting a solemn attitude and talked to her with sincere eyes “I promise you that I’ll take good care of her, I love Asuka, and I don’t want to see her hurt, I already did it, and I regret, so please, rest assured that I’ll not make that mistake again” Jun words had a strong sense of conviction, they didn’t leave space for doubt, so she didn’t found any reason to dislike this man. She stood from her seat, walked in Jun’s direction and patted his shoulder when she was close enough “Matsumoto-kun, consider yourself accepted, welcomed to the family and well received here anytime you need it” Jun looked at her with humble eyes and got up from his seat with the intention of bring Asuka back.
He found her outside the house, playing with her cellphone, he silently sat next to her and passed his arm around her waist, moving closer to her warmth “How did it went?”
“I was welcomed to your family” Asuka moulded herself against Jun, resting her head in his shoulder “Welcome then” She dropped a small kiss in Jun’s jaw and came back to her cellphone “What are you doing?”
“Texting Nino, when he leaved school he heard some rumours about a guy with strong features picking me up, and now everyone is commenting it at the school forum, I didn’t know that people cared so much about me, Nino said that they are commenting that I pick up a good one…in a good and a bad way”
“Asuka…what did your friends said about you and I dating?, specially that one with the chipmunk face” Asuka told him what her friends did, Jun told her what Sho said to him a while ago and she felt like hugging her friend. “Hey, should I be worried about your friends?” Asuka grabbed the meaning of that answer immediately “No way, that would be incest, trust me”
“I do” Asuka leaved a last kiss in his jaw and stood up, taking him with her. They got inside the house and dinner was already waiting for them in the table.

“So what konbini girl, now you’re going to fix our leader?” Jun had warned her about the possible reactions from his friends, and his advice was to stood up against them, because they will appreciate that. So that was what she will do. “Fix? Fix what? You think there’s something to fix in Jun’s persona?”
“No, I think he is perfect” Ranma got a slap from Jun “I think so too” Aiba moved next to Asuka and passed an arm around her shoulders, an arm that was quickly moved away by Jun “They thought you would try to make him leave his yankee life”
“Look, I don’t know what other experiences have you guys had with Jun’s ex girlfriend but I can assure you that change him is not one of my goals”
“Well, is not like we have had a lot of experiences before” All of them nodded agreeing with Tommy’s statement “Tommy shut up!” Jun looked overly embarrassed, he regret for being so obvious, Asuka’s eyes showed him that she has found a new way to torture him “Guys? Is there a possibility that I’m the first girl that he has introduced to you?”
“Yeah” Answered all of them, including Aiba. Jun felt defeated “Oh really?” Asuka’s face annoyed Jun, he wanted to pinch her cheek to erase that oh you’re so cute expression in her face “Don’t get too full of yourself Kayano!”
“Ok ok, I will not!” They exchange an accomplice look that didn’t passed in adverted for everyone, that’s why the whistles started to fill the air. And Jun shut them one by one.

Finals were always a pain in the ass. Thank god for created Sakurai Sho, the guy with the best notes and the best ways to explain subject that made no sense in Asuka’s head. She needed good grades to get in to D university, and as lately she has been very concentrated in this new person in her life, studying became something very mundane “Asuka, congrats, you answered correctly all of the questions you may run free, but keep studying during the weekend!”
“Yeah, I will” Nino finished his exercises and handed them to Sho so he could review them “So, no Jun love this weekend?”
“We didn’t arranged a meeting, he knows that I have to study, so he probably will not even talk to me this weekend, and he also has exams, so yeah, no Jun love” Her last words sounded somehow lost, filled with early nostalgia.
After Sakurai’s master class, Asuka hit Ohno’s konbini for some mid night snack, late night snack, and breakdown snacks, she was planning on study all night so she could have a calm Sunday.
She spent the entire afternoon studying, her mind was filed with equations, she could recite them by memory, but her eyes were itching and her brain was a bit tired. She went down to the kitchen to prepare herself a warm coffee and when she was back in her room, she found one missed call from Jun in her phone. She called immediately, Jun picked up after a couple of rings “Asuka?”
“Hello, are you alright?” For some reason, hearing are you alright each time Jun talked to her over the phone healed him. Asuka’s caring tone, and the shine after each pronounced word made his breath quickened. “How’s the study?”
“Long and unnecessarily boring, but I’m doing great, I already know everything I have to know, so I’ll be careful to not memorize or learn anything more until the exams, otherwise I’ll forget everything I learned today” Jun’s laugh over the phone trigged something inside her “I miss you” Jun kept quite for a while “Come on Jun, said it” Jun took a deep breath, laying back on his bed “I miss you too” Jun could hear her soft giggle and it spread to his face “At least we have the phone right?”
“Is not enough hearing you, I have to see you too” Asuka’s voice adopted a fake doubtful tone, hiding the butterflies that were moving from her tummy to her mouth “I’m a little bit tired, I have been studying all day long, but…I guess I can give you a bit of my time” Jun stood up from his bed and started to change on his street clothes “I’ll be there in 15, bye” The call was cut, leaving Asuka shaking in excitement, laughing as a little girl.
Fifteen minutes later, her doorbell was calling her. She dash down the stairs, colliding with the door and then opened it with clumsy hands.Jun let himself in, passing on arm around Asuka’s shoulders, pulling her closer for a brief kiss. They got inside the house, to Asuka’s room, Jun leaning against her desk meanwhile she started to arrange the books and pencils that were spread on her carpet. “I’m not bothering you right?”
“No, I was already done with study, what about you?” Jun shrugged his shoulders talking with disdain “Na, it’s a history exam and I’m good at it, I just re-read my notes and I always absorb all the information in class, so…” Jun was muted by the landing of a pillow in his face “Damn it Jun, you know how annoying is when people say things like that?”
“I thought you liked the fact that I was smart!”
“I do, but I don’t wanna hear it when I just spend an entire afternoon fighting with my books and notebooks” Jun bowed, honestly apologizing for his words. Asuka walked in his direction, and wrapped him in her arms, leaving soft kisses in Jun’s neck “What’s this…?” Asked Jun with his heart on his throat, slowly passing his arms around her waist, already such a natural thing to do for him “Hn…just for a bit, you got me in the mood” Jun wondered what exactly got her in the mood, he didn’t know that she had been in the mood for a while now. Asuka kept pushing him against the table until he was comfortably sitting on top of the table “Just sit here for a moment” She said standing in between Jun’s legs “What about your lack of sleep?”
“I’ve already forgotten all about it” Jun gave her a grin that made her chest shiver and pulled her by holding onto her sides, allowing Asuka to kiss him wherever she wanted. After each long kiss, she would leave a softer one in the corner of my lips, as a signature, eliciting a soft sigh from Jun’s mouth.

“Yeah” Answered all of them, including Aiba. Jun felt defeated “Oh really?” Asuka’s face annoyed Jun, he wanted to pinch her cheek to erase that oh you’re so cute expression in her face “Don’t get too full of yourself Kayano!”
“Ok ok, I will not!” They exchange an accomplice look that didn’t passed in adverted for everyone, that’s why the whistles started to fill the air. And Jun shut them one by one.

Finals were always a pain in the ass. Thank god for created Sakurai Sho, the guy with the best notes and the best ways to explain subject that made no sense in Asuka’s head. She needed good grades to get in to D university, and as lately she has been very concentrated in this new person in her life, studying became something very mundane “Asuka, congrats, you answered correctly all of the questions you may run free, but keep studying during the weekend!”
“Yeah, I will” Nino finished his exercises and handed them to Sho so he could review them “So, no Jun love this weekend?”
“We didn’t arranged a meeting, he knows that I have to study, so he probably will not even talk to me this weekend, and he also has exams, so yeah, no Jun love” Her last words sounded somehow lost, filled with early nostalgia.
After Sakurai’s master class, Asuka hit Ohno’s konbini for some mid night snack, late night snack, and breakdown snacks, she was planning on study all night so she could have a calm Sunday.
She spent the entire afternoon studying, her mind was filed with equations, she could recite them by memory, but her eyes were itching and her brain was a bit tired. She went down to the kitchen to prepare herself a warm coffee and when she was back in her room, she found one missed call from Jun in her phone. She called immediately, Jun picked up after a couple of rings “Asuka?”
“Hello, are you alright?” For some reason, hearing are you alright each time Jun talked to her over the phone healed him. Asuka’s caring tone, and the shine after each pronounced word made his breath quickened. “How’s the study?”
“Long and unnecessarily boring, but I’m doing great, I already know everything I have to know, so I’ll be careful to not memorize or learn anything more until the exams, otherwise I’ll forget everything I learned today” Jun’s laugh over the phone trigged something inside her “I miss you” Jun kept quite for a while “Come on Jun, said it” Jun took a deep breath, laying back on his bed “I miss you too” Jun could hear her soft giggle and it spread to his face “At least we have the phone right?”
“Is not enough hearing you, I have to see you too” Asuka’s voice adopted a fake doubtful tone, hiding the butterflies that were moving from her tummy to her mouth “I’m a little bit tired, I have been studying all day long, but…I guess I can give you a bit of my time” Jun stood up from his bed and started to change on his street clothes “I’ll be there in 15, bye” The call was cut, leaving Asuka shaking in excitement, laughing as a little girl.
Fifteen minutes later, her doorbell was calling her. She dash down the stairs, colliding with the door and then opened it with clumsy hands.Jun let himself in, passing on arm around Asuka’s shoulders, pulling her closer for a brief kiss. They got inside the house, to Asuka’s room, Jun leaning against her desk meanwhile she started to arrange the books and pencils that were spread on her carpet. “I’m not bothering you right?”
“No, I was already done with study, what about you?” Jun shrugged his shoulders talking with disdain “Na, it’s a history exam and I’m good at it, I just re-read my notes and I always absorb all the information in class, so…” Jun was muted by the landing of a pillow in his face “Damn it Jun, you know how annoying is when people say things like that?”
“I thought you liked the fact that I was smart!”
“I do, but I don’t wanna hear it when I just spend an entire afternoon fighting with my books and notebooks” Jun bowed, honestly apologizing for his words. Asuka walked in his direction, and wrapped him in her arms, leaving soft kisses in Jun’s neck “What’s this…?” Asked Jun with his heart on his throat, slowly passing his arms around her waist, already such a natural thing to do for him “Hn…just for a bit, you got me in the mood” Jun wondered what exactly got her in the mood, he didn’t know that she had been in the mood for a while now. Asuka kept pushing him against the table until he was comfortably sitting on top of the table “Just sit here for a moment” She said standing in between Jun’s legs “What about your lack of sleep?”
“I’ve already forgotten all about it” Jun gave her a grin that made her chest shiver and pulled her by holding onto her sides, allowing Asuka to kiss him wherever she wanted. After each long kiss, she would leave a softer one in the corner of my lips, as a signature, eliciting a soft sigh from Jun’s mouth.
