my daughter has a winter coat.
this is such an answer to prayers.
theres this thing called the kidz closet. its a free clothing drive for whoever wants it. come and take how much you want. it's really beautiful. theres no paycheck stub checking to see if you qualify. just open to anyone.
we went last year and were so moved that i wanted to get involved. so i've been helpoing recruit people to fold and sort clothes. spreading flyers around so people knew about it...
well yesterday was the opening day (today it closes..) so volunteers were allowed to go early and do their 'shopping.'
we need clothes for our little one. lots of them. but we specifically needed a coat for the baby. she has sweaters and a coupler fleece jackets but nothing really suitable for winter.
and in the time i was 'shopping' i found a virtually brand new winter coat for the baby. 18-24 months old. its a bit big but it will layer well and she'll grow into it.
but she has a winter coat.

when we were leaving the closet, it was just opening and people were arriving. and i was so struck by the need for this. we are not destitute but we dont make as much as many others.
but as i started my car, i saw a mini van pull up. it had no windows. well it hand windows but no glass. the entire side was covered in duck tape and garbage bags.
this is so needed. this service is soo needed to everyone here.
