but this one kind of got me.
Here within we have the comparison of (voluntary) prostitution to slavery.
Would you be arguing that slavery was worth keeping around and incorporating into society no matter the suffering and discrimination because "hey, there's a need/demand in society. People don't mind that job any more than retail. I know, because I can find a few who say that somewhere. Why not keep it around, legalized and accepted in society as a whole if some of them choose to stay in that line of work? It would even mean we could pass laws that slaveowners shouldn't abuse their slaves! It would improve conditions for all the ones who want to keep working like this!"
Am I right in calling this a Tubman's law violation? I wasn't entirely sure, but I do believe that comparing the 'plight' of prostitutes (including those willing/voluntarily/happily in the industry) to slaves fell under it.
