Okay, stop groaning. Over in bad_service, amethystcitrine makes a perfectly reasonable post about not being able to get pizza at a pizza place. Five times.

Have you ever actually looked at population statistics, like, anywhere? The population of the US is bigger than the population of the UK, Australia, and New Zealand combined. Amazing what 90 seconds on Google can teach you.

Also, while I'm sure they exist somewhere, I've never once met a Canadian who pronounced it toMAHto.

you're absolutely right. The issue is definitely demographics, reliability of population statistics, and the use of Wikipedia as a primary source.

The problem is not the ethnocentric microcephalus who said "who the frick says to-MAH-toe anyway."
