I have *every* CD by Vanessa Mae, and *OMG!!!* we saw her in person years ago -- she was just releasing a new CD, and we went down to a great club in Hollywood and drank in the joy that is her talent. She is teh awesome, and she's soooo sweet, too. It's amazing to find another VM fan by accident -- I think I love you, Muppet! :D

*gasp* Ohmigod someone else has heard of Vanessa-Mae! *jumps up and down* And seeing her in concert? I am madly jealous. The only CD I own so far is The Violin Player - and even that I only dug up by happy chance in a used CD store - but I have a couple of songs from Storm on my iPod as well.

Also, there is a band called Apocalyptica. Their first album was called "Plays Metallica by Four Cellos."
It's exactly how it sounds. Except now there's only three cellos and a drummer, but still. They cover metal songs with cellos. It's wonderful. (Oi! I just found on Deezer the String Tribute to Senses Fail! Wtf? This is not an original market....)
But Vanessa-Mae is wonderful! Danke for the find. I'll be grooving to Deezer's limited selection until I can find a suitably large discography somewhere else.

And Metallica in cellos sounds fabulous. I must go check it out.
Have you heard her version of Toccata and Fugue in D Minor on The Violin Player disc? It's my absolute favorite song of hers; just hearing it makes me squee uncontrolably, and if you haven't heard it yet I must send it to you somehow. It's gorgeous.
