Rest in Peace, Ingmar Bergman. Cinema will miss you.
And the "Oh, crap." I was working on Mom's bead chains for her necklace, and I got almost completely done with chain #4 - almost done, I tell you. Like, within inches.
Unfortunately, I found out in the course of being inches from done that my strand was inches too short. Which means I have to cut the calotte off one end of the thread and restring the whole damn thing. Crap.
This necklace is going to take me weeks.
And now, the interview meme rides again, courtesy of
stellaluna_. Y'all know how this is done, so comment if you want it, though I'm sure you're not thrilled about doing this again.
Am still pondering doing the First Impressions meme.
1. Who is your favorite Muppet?
Depends on whether we're talking about every Muppet or just the Muppet Show Muppets. Out of all the Muppets, my favorite is Boober, from Fraggle Rock, because he's an anxiety-ridden ball of stress and I loved him for it. He added "pestilence" to my vocabulary at the tender age of five-ish, he washed socks as a hobby even though he never wore them, and he was the Muppet responsible for the "hideous round thing". I love Boober.
If we mean only the Muppet Show Muppets, my favorite is Beaker. His squeaking and meeping are endlessly amusing, and I pity his constant injury at the hands of Bunsen Honeydew's experiments.
2. You have the opportunity to spend a day doing whatever you want. What's the plan?
Hmm. First on the list is a back massage. A really long, really deep one. I've wanted one for years.
I’d probably do just a little bit of shopping, mostly for shoes.
Now, if we’re talking about “whatever I want” regardless of probability, then I’d like to spend a little time talking with Ray Bradbury and William Goldman, two authors I admire and respect. Beyond the clichéd questions of “what is writing like for you”, “what inspires you”, and all that, I’m not sure what I’d ask them. I’d have to think about those for a bit longer.
I’d have my friends over for lunch; don’t know what I’d have for lunch, though. Maybe fondue if I could stand that much food. We’d talk, probably for hours. We usually do.
There would be ice cream afterwards, if I wasn’t violently sick from too much fondue.
I would probably play some video games, since I don’t get a chance to do that much any more. There would be DDR, too, as soon as I stopped being sick. I think I’d walk outside, if it was a nice day.
Again, if we’re not thinking about plausibility, I’d go to a Cirque du Soleil show, since I’ve wanted to see them live ever since I first realized they existed. If not, I’d want to see a Blue Man Group performance.
Since I’m probably running out of hours in this perfect day, I’d head to dinner - one of those Japanese steakhouses, where they cook the food on grills built into the table. My friends would probably be there too. We’d then head to Cold Stone for more ice cream, because I’m a pig.
I’d spend some time writing, because this is an ideal day and I’d be inspired. There’s be TV or a movie on in the background, but I’m not sure what.
I’d head to bed early, soak in a hot bubble bath, luxuriate, and polish. Then I’d go to bed, and sleep a deep, satisfying sleep.
3. What are your favorite episodes of CSI:NY?
“Episodes!” Oh, it’s a plural. I love plurals.
Let’s see. My favorite episode of all time has to be “Run Silent, Run Deep”, for obvious reasons. The return of Tanglewood and Sonny, Louie, all manner of emotional trauma on Danny’s part, and that lovely scene between Mac and Danny at the end. “Run Silent, Run Deep” tugged at my heartstrings.
“The Closer” in Season 1 is one of my favorites, because it’s the first time Mac opens up about Claire. The scene where he tells Stella about Claire’s death is subtle but effectively played and moving. Plus, Sullivan’s exoneration makes the case a bit different and more interesting.
“Sweet Sixteen” has sentimental value for me because it’s the first episode I watched with my family, and while it wasn’t a spectacular episode, it was much more amusing with my uncle making comments about killer pigeons. And there’s a nice scene between Mac and Reed at the end, too. I’m fond of Reed.
“Snow Day” is working its way up my list of favorites, just because I didn’t expect the season finale to be anything like that - quite that exciting, for one thing. And it’s as yet the only episode with badass bonesaw Hawkes.
4. Have you ever broken a bone?
Thankfully, no. I haven’t even twisted or fractured or sprained anything yet.
5. If you could hang out with any of the actors from CSI:NY in real life, who would you choose?
Probably Eddie Cahill, and yes, I say that for a reason other than Flack/Eddie fangirlism. Eddie seems really laid-back and fun-loving, as evidenced by his antics with the Stanley Cup (he seated it in the interrogation room and began making Very Serious Faces at it and pointing) and his casual attitude during the TalkCSI live chats (in spite of the increasingly inane questions *rolls eyes*). I’d love to chat and laugh with him - and maybe even learn something about hockey?
