Does any American network syndicate Homicide: Life on the Street? Because TNT ran an L&O/HLOTS crossover episode the other day, and I might be hooked. Especially after Rey Curtis and the dark-haired Baltimore detective had to stop a woman from vacuuming up a crime scene.

Yes, actually, my life does need more crime drama. Why do you ask?

I'm heading off on vacation with my family starting Friday, and will be gone for about a week. I'll have my laptop with me, but my internet access will be iffy, and besides, I'll be on vacation, so I'll actually be doing things besides Internetsing.

Unfortunately, this is a day earlier than I thought I'd be going, which means I'm going to have to miss out on my 300-viewing Fun Day with
widdledragon. This makes me very, very sad.

I've hit another writing slump, and as such have made little progress on anything except for Set Alpha in my
1sentence  claim (35% done) and some dutifully transcribed Little Brothers character meta (almost 2,500 words for the brothers alone and counting). My fifth attempt to kick-start that Olivia/Brian SVU fic has gone nowhere, the request fics are in limbo, and I still can't think of a good way to finish off that House ficlet.

In lieu of inspiration, I've set about trying to untangle the mess my original stories have become, so that I can once and for all what happens to whom and why, and maybe, just maybe, nail this thing to a page at some point in the near future. And that means in a real live first draft, not an outline, since these two stories have existed in outline form for over six years as I constantly tweaked them. That needs to end so that I can finish them, declare them a success or failure (probably the latter, sadly), and move on with my literary life.

Of course, like my attempts to fic, wrestling with that particular ancient beast has met with little success.

I've stared to draw again lately, which I haven't done since December. Granted, I've completely forgotten anything about drawing realistic bodies in the interim, but I do think I'm starting to get better at semi-realistic faces. Note the 'semi'.

I still owe some DA people art from last year. How shameful.

I haven't been on my DeviantArt account in forever. I haven't been drawing, so there's really no point, plus every time I try to get started on my backlogged messages I realize that there are almost 2,000 of them, and I get scared and head back to the much more manageable LJ. It's a shame, because DA was my internet home for almost two years. I'm sure I'll go back eventually, once I do some more drawing (and I'm taking Basic Drawing for my art credit next semester, so I will be picking up a pencil again), but I kind of miss it in the meanwhile.

Or maybe I'm just irritated that I can't even commit to a single website, which bodes ill for my actual life commitments further up the road.

See you all next week if I don't before then. *waves*
