Trade day...
Today was the trade deadline for the NHL. Today saw the Caps trade off Dainus Zubrus and Jaime Heward. Yesterday the Caps dealt Richard Zednik for a second time and Lawrence Nycholat. All four deals made me sad, but especially the Zed and Zubrus trades. Zuby's been around for a while now and it's sad to see him go. He was an integral memeber of this team for the last several years and besides Olie, the only real holdover from the good days of the Caps. Zed has always been one of my favorites. I was sad to see him go six years ago, and am sad again. I'd love to have him back in the offseason, but I doubt it will happen. On the bright side, this means plenty of playing time for the rookies. Also, the Caps made a gutsy comeback in tonights game after coming out flatter than a pancake to start the game. Hopefully this will propel them to better times. Here's hoping...
