NHL vs. Burke

Sep 29, 2005 15:07

Martha Burke, head of the Council on Womens Affairs, or something to that nature, has started a protest of the new NHL add that is going to start running any minute now and can be seen on NHL.com. She says it portrays women in a bad/sexual way because the woman featured in the spot is "scantily clad" and therefore must be a sex symbol.

Well, the add is about spirituality, and the woman is supposed to be the guru tutoring the hockey player on focusing or something, then she helps him put on his pads before the game. And just how scantily clad is she, you might ask? Well, she has a pair of sweatpants on, as well as a sports bra and a sheer robe on her back. I've seen worse in a Special K commercial! Mrs. Burke needs to just take her candy ass home, and find something more important to worry about than what's on TV!
