Yeah I know, I'm posting a lot this weekend.
Musical Mashup Poetry Meme, from
faeriesfolly: Put your music player on shuffle, and write down the first line of the first twenty songs. Post the poem that results.
(With apologies to the fans of actual poetry who are on my flist.)
So much going on in the world of this girl
Illusions running down my throat
This appeared as a moral dilemma
[ominous latin here]
Roses are red and violets are blue
Where is the one who will mourn me when I'm gone?
[ominous latin here]
Far away and oh-so-near
True American love
There's a game on my phone
I get up early when the sleeping pill wakes me
Oh Paris, give yourself to me
When a new day reaches dawn
Hush now, the morning's near
I don't dare to take it slow
I walk a lonely road
So strong is the silence
I somehow knew you were there
I'm still a bit suspicious
I was once underground
Could I ever lose my way
Out on your own
If you ask why I didn't skip past the ominous latin, you don't appreciate how many instrumental songs I was already skipping. But I'm not sure why there are only three bands and one cluster of musicals represented.
Results? I think the random "there's a game on my phone" breaks it a bit. Otherwise, it paints a dark and somewhat political picture of people saying dramatic things in the first verse because that's when you have to build tension if your song's gonna work.
