Just got home from work.  Found notice of a rent increase on my door.  Observe how closely this follows the city council's denial of the petition to turn these apartments into condominiums?

Only $15 more per month, but it raises the total over a certain round-number psychological threshold.

Commute traffic got worse and worse throughout last week.  I thought: construction.  Then someone clued me in: school.  I'm not exactly clear how the opening of school so clogs my freeway route, but I suppose that it's the end of family vacations, plus the need for trucks to bring food and things to schools, plus some high school and college ( Read more... )
