For those who enjoy Numb3rs, a recommendation: the final scene of last Friday's episode, "
Animal Rites," is a Bechdel Rule-satisfying interlude with three of the four regular female characters, plus a long-familiar actress who guest-starred and whom I hope will be coming aboard for future episodes. The scene feels like three minutes of filmed between-the-scenes fanfic.
I still feel show-less, as ever since Young Blades ended. I think I could have fallen for silly Moonlight, or earnest New Amsterdam, had they lived, or quirky Pushing Daisies, in its way. Bones and Heroes left me. Numb3rs and NCIS I still have, but -- I watch them, not fangirl them. Still, when I can feel warm and fuzzy about a plot-free, character-dwelling scene like that, well, it's not quite a starvation diet after all. Good for them.
(When am I fangirling a show? My old measure used to be: when I tune into the reruns on purpose, you have me. Which only goes to show that I last really loved a show in those halcyon bygone days of reruns...)
