More problems with financial aid/overage funds

Just when you get down to your last $8.00 (in the checking account), you finally learn that the stupid financial aid/student accounts offices are holding your money!
First, I learned that I had to sign a form to let them know that I had switched to part time status (from 4 courses to 2 this semester) in order to properly get my commuting meal plan credited and qualify to eat in the dining hall  (by their swiping my ID card), and I thought that that was it. Fini, done, all taken care of.
NOOOOOO. They have to make it more complicated. Good thing I decided to go over and find out about the $3,ooo overage on my financial aid (I should have done this sooner so I could use the moola for buying all my books), such as when it would be direct desposited into my bank account.  I have to fill out "another" form stating my status (from full time to part time) had changed, so that they could then process "that" part of the financial aid package.

They tell me now that I should get an email soon stating that they will put money in my account in 3 days. Man, I could have used that money 3 weeks ago! One woman also mentioned something about the fact that they might have just waited till Feb 1, the last day to add/subtract a class, so I am not really coming out ahead here. I really need to order books! I got one for tomorrow's class on a credit card (sad but true).

Why couldn't someone explain these things to me? No one explains anything about this....
