Boston is outrageous--- you know I heard somewhere that BU owns nearly 33% of the rental property in Boston---don't know if that's true... but regardless---the property management companies are certainly taking advantage of all the *rich* students whose parents are able to afford astronomical rent dues. Comm Ave is great though because you're right on the green line. ...You know there's a good thai restaurant in Cleveland Circle---forget the name--but my bf constantly reminises about that place and their "Bangkok Chicken" dish. ----Even better, if you're ana----go to Harvard Ave (near Kupel's) between Comm ave and Coolidge Corner---another Thai place (also forget the name)---small servings and lots of soup choices (w/water-based broth)---good to take friends--they won't notice how little you're eating. You said that you were in school? Are you still? Where? Anyway, good luck finding something on Comm Ave. .....I still have close connection (through a relative that works for them) w/Bueler Realty---they own a lot of rental property in Brookline---let me know---maybe I can ask if they've got something reasonable......
....they also have properties in Allston and Brighton...they've got a few buildings on Harvard Ave. near Commm.---really nice & with PARKING!!! Anyway... I told my relative to check on it---he's got a few other connections too (he's really close to the folks at Bueler---best luck w/good $$ there)... but he's be out of town until Fri---he said he'll do it this weekend. FYI---he, although no expert, believes that mostly everything (1 bedroom) will be about 1,000/mo. (except for in Brighton where it will be cheaper). If you have a pal to go in w/--that's great $500/mo.... but I dunno---1 bedroom can be tight even for pals.... I'll letcha know as soon as I know---probably Monday (10/11)--Columbus Day. I hope that you're not too desperate.... when is your current lease up???
Thanks! I'm actually not sure exactly when I need to be out of my current apartment. We're being evicted (non-payment because they *refuse* to fix anything or take care of any of the problems we've had) and we have court 10/14, so the soonest we have to be out is 10/24. It's me and my fiance, so a 1 bedroom would be ok, but we'd probably prefer a 2 bed, since we have a ridiculous amount of stuff. Thanks again for trying to help me out....if you hear anything, email me at gettingsmaller81(at)yahoo.com. :) Hope your day is going well...
