Earlier this week I found out that PotterCast was coming to Atlanta with The Whomping Willows and The Remus Lupins as part of their pre-movie tour and I decided I couldn't not go

Oh, I wish they'd been there in August, as a POST movie thing! :P I'm all sad now, LOL.
Sounds fun, though. And that's great that you met some old-school Quillers! I love that you have a Team 87 shirt... I don't, but as you've probably noticed 87 is still my "random example" number. And whenever I see people with 87 shirts or whatnot I always want to say something... one time I actually did, but I just got a weird look. (I'm not talking about Aeropostale, just general shirts that sometimes seem custom made.)
You rock at finding cool Harry Potter stuff to do! Almost every Harry Potter related event in Denmark is for children, though, and while I don't mind doing children-stuff it's just not always as interesting...
lol, I love your obsession with meeting people irl to check that they aren't hairy old American senators... It's just too funny...
That's so cool! Even though there were no amps and they had to run away from the police. :D
there was a dance or martial arts group or cult or something there Hee! Too bad they weren't selling stuff, or maybe the police would have gone after them instead...
Sounds like a good time. I'm so out of what's happenin' and cool in the Potter world that I pretty much didn't understand most of what you were talking about. As far as Potter goes, I am re-reading HBP right now. I also don't understand why a H/D shipper shirt (I think I understand H/D shipper)would have anything to do with the state of Massachusetts. I want to see a pic of the I Believe In Nargles shirt.
I'm going to re-read HBP soon. It should be very interesting, now in light of TDH and also because it's the book I've read the least so far. Maybe we can discuss stuff!
For a while, Massachusetts was the place to go if you wanted to get gay-married.
Ashwin took a couple Nargle-shirt pics. If they are any good, I will send them to you.
haha...I thought Hermione/Draco. And, yes, you are happenin' and cool. I haven't gotten far in HBP--just now past the Slughorn chap. You can catch up easily. Maybe I'm weird, but I really do enjoy the first two chapters of that book.
I wouldn't say I'm the master of meeting other HP fans. Other people go to conventions and things and had giant book-reading summits and have their online friends in their weddings. Or, like, end up working at the same institutions or whatever. But I would say I've come a long way from my previous isolation.
I'm pretty sure the TLC tour has already been through D.C., but there might be an area meet-up group you could see the movie with or something.
Well, you do seem to have lots of good meet-up stories lately is all! :D I've never been to any conventions either, although it seems like it might be fun.
I saw on the TLC dates that they're going to the library where I lived last summer... too bad I already missed them here! If nothing else, I'm sure I can find someone in a bunch of librarians who wants to go see HBP.
"I think I was a bit of a ninny about it, but it's just whenever I read about someone or something before I meet them it's just automatically ten times cooler because it's like meeting a character."
Aye. I know exactly what you mean. Glad you had an adventure!! Adventures are fun. *big beam*

Now I wonder if there are any interesting pre-movie events around here. Although I don't know how comfortable I'd be if I didn't know anyone there.
