I don't often read bad books, but the third 39 Clues book? Pretty bad. The plot got decent eventually (once it stopped relying on really, really lame devices). But the characterization of the kids, especially in the dialogue, ranged from seriously awkward to mildly offensive. kit_the_brave, have you read any librarian-reviews on this?
Basically, the only things I liked were the new page-numbers code and the increased depth for Alistair Oh, and I'm sort of angry at this Lerangis guy for bringing the series down, and at his editors for letting him.
Actually, I'm kinda grumpy in general. I blame the weather. (Isn't it beautiful in Atlanta? Yes, but it came too suddenly, which makes my head hurt. Tomorrow is meant to be 78. Yesterday bits of snow lingered in the shade.)
