PERSONALITY & HOUSE REQUESTS: Ever sidling up against the walls of darkness, Rose matches up well with those of the Slytherin house.  Her personality is very stern, concise, powerful, and emits a certain elegance that screams a sort of classiness about her. This is evidenced in her interactions with the Trolls, where many of them mistake her for some sort of human royalty. The majority of these traits truly come into play in the onset of her session of Sburb.

Rose is smart, witty, cunning, and resourceful.  Throughout the game she methodically calculates her options and comes up with the best options on what to do next that more often than not, are correct. She lead John through the first few hours of the game as his server player, being the first one to do so and thus had the responsibility of figuring out what to do placed solely on her.

This trend continues, and as the “Seer of Light” she helps guide her friends through the many confusing trials and tribulations of maddening Sburb. At least it continues until the game “breaks’ and the kids find themselves unable to complete their session due to the excessive damage caused by Jack Noir. Rather than accepting defeat and giving up hope, Rose goes on a quest to tear the game apart in order to find a way to save their doomed session.  As she begins this visceral task, her personality starts to twist from witty and thoughtful to downright vicious and mysterious. Looking for answers, she tears apart her own world in the medium looking for clues on how to save their session.

These drastic changes in demeanor and personality, while not completely taking over her as she still finds time to occasionally banter with her friends and a few of the trolls, is largely in part to her interaction with the Noble Circle of Horror Terrors from the Furthest Ring.  Through their whispers and foresight, she is able to find a path of what she should be doing next, and despite them being ambiguous in morality, fully trusts them with her service. They imbue her with all sorts of magical powers with which she uses to carry out the prophecies in their whispers in the hopes that she’ll be able to undo the damage to their session and escape their fate. Her friends start to worry about her the more she relies on the Horror Terrors and their power, warning her of the danger that they may pose, but she refuses to listen. She believes that through their power, she just might be able to find a way to set things right. This shows how she’s willing to look past morality if it means being able to achieve her ambitions. Desperate or resourceful, she weighs her options and knows what she’s doing. Any “darkness” is no matter to her. She holds great ambition in overcoming these impossible odds by any means necessary, and in combing the many secrets out of the white sand that is Sburb.

In combat, Rose is just as intense, resourceful, and brilliant as she is in conversation. One could even go as far to say that she’s downright frightening. She takes little pity on the monsters that often surround her in Sburb, making quick work of them via magic or with her knitting needles.

Since she was a little girl, she felt a strong attraction to the dark, the strange, and the dubious. She immersed herself in dark lore, the bestially strange and fictitious, apocryphal texts, and especially grimoires of the zoologically dubious. Completely enamored by these sorts of things, it’s only natural that she sees the darkness not as something to be feared, but as something interesting and beautiful in it’s own way.

In more casual moments, Rose is a rather fun conversationalist, always using perfect grammar and syntax in text communication.  She uses razor-sharp wit to tear apart her conversation partner with an array of sarcasm, sesquipedalian jargon, and similes. Her friends often note her as “longwinded” and “wordy” while she reprimands them by saying to “learn the lingo.” Often dabbling in psychoanalysis much to her friends’ chagrin, she also enjoys creative writing and knitting, showing a more creative, albeit rather secretive side.

Logical to the very core, Rose puts the directive ahead of her own feelings and thoughts, almost to a fault. Many of these traits, such as her wit, intelligence, and uniqueness would also place her as an excellent Ravenclaw.

(Dead set on Slytherin, Thanks <3)

COMMUTER DETAILS: Commuter will not be tapped.

POSITION: Student

ORIENTATION: As she is only 13 years old and there is little to no evidence of a sexual orientation, it’s entirely possible that she hasn’t figured it out yet. Throughout the course of the comic thus far there has been little to no evidence of a concrete sexuality aside from certain passing phrases that could be construed as “flirting” which occur with both men and women alike. (I hope that’s enough?)

ABILITIES & POWERS: Rose has, after having played Sburb and climbed her echeladder (think leveling up your class in an RPG) gained a wealth of powers and abilities. Not only can she wield her knitting needles like an expert, cold blooded killer, but she can also use them as wands to cast a variety of destructive magic imbued to her by the Noble Circle of Horror Terrors. This magic more often comes in the form of black or purple ridged laser-like beams shot from the ends of her needles or wands. She can also use the wands to levitate up extremely heavy things from the ground, once even lifting a whole ruin from under the ocean. Eventually she even gained the ability to fly and levitate around. In addition to these combat abilities, she also has the power of a "seer" which allows her to bypass physical and mental walls between her and what she needs to see.

Rose also has what the Homestuck universe refers to as a Sylladex. It works more or less like an invisible suitcase in your head, with which you can place a number of items in there without them taking up any physical space. It's here that Rose keeps important objects like her needles, her computer, her violin, and the many various things she may decide to pick up whenever the urge hits her.
Her magic and levitation powers can be easily converted into certain spells within the Harry Potter universe, specifically certain things within the realm of the dark arts. While her intelligence and combat style suits her to be talented at a number of magic, it would be easy for her to lose control of her power if she isn’t careful.

WAND: Rigid, blackthorn wood with a core made from her wands of Oglogoth. Specializes in martial magic and the dark arts.

MISC.: Anything else you think the mods need to be made aware of.
WRITING SAMPLES
FIRST PERSON:
Perplexing circumstances non-withstanding, I can’t help but feel somewhat pleasantly at home. But I do ask to please hold your sickening applause of mockery at the ridiculousness of that statement. The picture I’m attempting to paint is among many colors, discerned only by those trained in a similar palette. Absurdity has already claimed itself as my god. Upon further analysis I've come to regard my current setting as, at the very least, mildly abnormal. Now, I'm sure a much heavier adjective would be more than complacent to take the place of "mildly" but in lieu of the past twenty four hours of my life, I'd say it doesn't stand out too much. Magical Castle? Magic wands? I couldn’t ask for a detour more affluent in my flavor of spectacle.

[As she speaks, she scribbling down something in a notebook, the sound of the led scraping against the paper filling the once silent air. She's looking around, definitely taking notes. After a moment she taps the pen down against the pad.] Wizardry…
Color me excited.
THIRD PERSON:

It hurt. Wait, no it didn’t. Not anymore, at the very least. The quizzical look was quickly swiped off her face as her head cleared itself. She’d just died. To most people, this would probably be a little more terrifying, but Rose Lalonde was never one to take any bad news ungracefully. She carried herself well, and brushed off the things that needed to be. Sadly, it seemed a lot like everything needed to be brushed off today. She recounted the last few moments of her life before becoming her dreamself. Storming through the castle, finding John, watching him die, being killed herself. It...made her sick. This time, things wouldn’t be brushed off so easily. A pity, really. Even she felt a bit shamed by these feelings. Like she had to hide them, even from herself.

It was hard to remember why she did that, why she got out of control, and even harder to discern whether or not the blame was all hers. The truth was it didn’t matter who was to blame, she still felt guilty. She was supposed to be the sensible one. Her analytical tendrils were wrapping themselves around her own mind this time. Did what she see cause this, or did she cause what she saw? What would happen next? Her eyes turned up towards the dark black sky of Derse. Would she really have to die now? For good?

She’d done so much thinking that she’d almost forgotten her Mother. It was that thought that tipped her over the edge, that thought that got her to realize how much worse she’d done to this session, and the danger she put her friends in.

She would be the one to die. She had to.
