Regina Spektor's definitely made vast leaps since I first heard of her - she was one of Whitney's favourites when we met in university, and while I still think that having an album called "Songs" (or "Music" or anything like that) is silly and sort of ostentatiously anti-pretentious, I'm now hearing her all over the place.

I was introduced to her when I saw an ad for Sky TV at the cinema that used Us and it was the audio equivalent of eyes meeting across a crowded room. The piano piece is outstanding. I just wish that I could find the original Danny Way advert.

Her last album (possibly) Far was one that I listened to twice, enjoyed and then didn't listen to much after that. I've rediscovered it a few times and it's really good.

It starts with the bouncy The Calculation, which is a great song for stamping your feet to when you do the washing up and Eet is lovely. The song Laughing With actually gives me a little bit of pause for thought about religion.

Summary: Regina Spektor is ace.
