There's a How I met your Mother episode called Unfinished. One of the ideas running through it is that everybody has a number in their phone that they can't delete, because deleting it means admitting that you're saying goodbye to a future version of you that you never realised

I've had a quick flick through it and read the Euro '96 section. Poor Gareth.

Thank you for making me aware of Brunelleschi's Dome. My favorite part of my architecture history class was hearing some of the ways other architects intended to build the dome before Brunelleschi. One guy's idea was to fill the cathedral with earth... But you probably knew that already having read a book.

I can definitely recommend Put the Book Back on the Shelf.

And now I'm thinking guiltily of an unfinished Gravity's Rainbow.

The most amazing thing about Brunelleschi isn't that he built an impossible building, but that he had to build impossible machines to make his impossible building.
