Yes, I had an adventure on Saturday. My brother and I took Dad out to Deeside Activity Park for his birthday. We did some air rifle shooting, go-karting, quad biking, axe throwing and archery.
Air rifles were actually quite easy. 1 shot 15 pellets and hit 15 targets, going for the difficult targets from about my 5th shot.
Go-karting was fun, since the karts skidded really easily. I took a few corners, braked and swung the back end out. It was tonnes of fun. Somehow, Dad managed to spin off the track to the left on a straight, with a right turn at the end of it.
Quad Biking is really difficult. I never really felt fully in control of my bike when I was on it (and I nearly crashed twice)
Axe throwing is alright, but the novelty does wear off after a bit. From looking at the pictures afterwards, it is startling how close the axe-blade comes to your own head
Archery might have been more fun if it wasn't really cold. And if I wasn't not very good at it.
On Sunday, I made pancakes. Pancakes are ace (and coming to an Idea 102 near you).
Right now I'm sadly under the weather, with a bunged up nose and a stuffy head to match.
Last night, we went to a cider-tasting party. I'd have had more fun if it wasn't for a stonking case of tired-ness and the aforementioned illness. Still, it was nice to get out of the house and be civilised for a bit.
For book group next month, it's Breakfast at Tiffany's, which is my book. I'm looking forward to reading it, but the rest of the year's books looks unappealing.
The lady on the left? Galacta, daughter of Galactus. There's a song that's sort of about her -
Destroyer of Worlds.
I'm now becoming a little bit addicted to
