breathe in deep, oh my soul

hey! if y'all have heard that phrase before ("breathe in deep, oh my soul"), let me know. it seems like i've heard it somewhere an that's why it's been in my subconscious mind all day. if not, it's definitely going into a song.

so anyway, i've been reading this book, "Christ the Healer" by F.F. Bosworth and its amazing, and i'm super pumped now! things i'm reading about starting to believe about healing:

speaking physically:

Is. 54- we should have the same confidence in the Lord's bearing on the cross of our sins and iniquities (vs 11 and 12) as we do His bearing on the cross of our infirmities and sorrows (vs.4--actually more acurately translated from the Hebrew as "diseases and pains"--look it up in a Hebrew dictionary! or just cross reference with Matthew 8:17).

His death/sacrifice on the cross is not limited to Spiritual salvation, but it is also for our PHYSICAL healing!!! "Praise the Lord...who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases." (Psalm 103:2-3)

Gal. 3:13 said He "redeemed us rom the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us" what is this curse of the law you may ask? Well surely it is eternal death in hell, but Deuteronomy 28 lists, for about 45 verses some of the curses of the Law (and probably not all the curses, but it's a good collection). included are many things some of which are physical, including fevers, tumors, blindness, skin diseases, and more...and if that doesn't get the point across, "every kind of sickness and disaster not recorded in this Book of the Law". He redeemed (in the Greek, redeemed, ransomed, rescued) us from that!

you may say, "i just don't think it's the Lord's will to heal me." a typical statement indeed. it seems to have merit. but i'll say, "do you think it's the Lord's will to keep His promises?" to which you will of course reply "why, of course!" "well then let me point you so some of those promises: James 5:15 "And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well" Not might, WILL. He wills it. See Psalm 102:24, Exodus 23:25-26, Psalm 91:16, or take the example from Matthew 8, the only story where the sick person actually asks if it is God's will to heal. He clears it up: "2A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean." 3Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Immediately he was cured of his leprosy."

The Spirit works miracles not becuase we observe the law, but because we BELIEVE the Word! (Gal 3:5) When we hear the truth of God's compassion and desire to heal us, we must believe! And then it will work in us to do a miracle. 1 thess 2, "13And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe." When we believe the Word, it works in us! Psalm 107:20- "He sent forth His WORD and healed them". As Jesus said to Mary when about to pray for Lazarus, "'Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?'" (John 11:40)

We can't pray any longer, "Lord heal me if it is your will," that's not faith! we know it is His will to heal us, He's promised it! We must take away the modifier and say "God I KNOW it is your will to heal me! It is written! Do what you promised!" pray for it, then believe it! And what happens when we don't see immediate results? We do what Jesus did when praying for Lazarus, you say "Father I thank you that you have heard me" and rejoice in faith that He will raise you up! We must have faith that He will heal even when we don't see results. take Jericho, or Abraham, both situations, they believed God would do what He promised even when in the natural, what they were trying to do (bring down city walls, have a son at age 100ish) seemed impossible. And similarly if we do feel better, we can't rejoice that God decided to heal us because our symptoms disappear, we rejoice whether or not we feel better simply because God's promises are for our health, they are "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future" (jeremiah 29:11).

So that's what I've got so far. It truly is an amazing book, and i encourage everyone to read it. loads of revelation. and apparently, in this author's ministry, back in the early early 1900s, thousands and thousands were physically healed--some instantly, some gradually--at their revival meetings. so he's gotta be doing something right! and the book is so filled with scripture, its almost like a commentary rather than a full out book. its really cool, check it out, i've been reading it a ton.

i've been learning. and we need true repentance too. those are the two themes of my life recently--true repentence (Spiritual healing) and true health (physical healing). interesting how God will put this tie this stuff together, eh?

But i guess that's enough stuff, i just needed to write that down somewhere. COOL!
bye
