On Saturday, our World of Warcraft guild (or part of it at least) got together for a party. It was the first time many of us had met, although we all knew each other pretty well anyway.
In honour of the occasion, and because I enjoy cooking, I thought I'd try to replicate one of the in-game foods: "Fish Feast".
All I had to go by was what appears on the plate: Fish, and oranges. A somewhat unusual combination.
After some thought, I decided upon a recipe. Here is the result:
Recipe:
1 Rainbow Trout, cleaned and descaled
4 Valencia Oranges
2 Oz Butter
2 TSP Minced Garlic
1 TSP Fresh Ground Black Pepper
A little olive oil
1) cut a piece of Aluminium foil large enough to completely wrap the fish loosely
2) pour olive oil on the foil and place the fish on the oil (just to reduce the chance of it sticking
3) roughly chop the butter and mix with the garlic and pepper. Place this mix inside and on top of the fish
4) Fold up the sides of the foil to make a liquid-proof bowl.
5) Juice 2 of the oranges and pour the juice over the fish
6) Fold the foil closed to create a sealed "tent" around the fish
7) Place on a baking sheet, in a preheated 325F/160C oven for 20-25 minutes until cooked.
8) Either serve hot, with the orange butter sauce, or drain the liquid, allow to cool, refrigerate and then serve on a plate with more oranges as "garnish".
