Hmm well the weekend is over and its back to the hospital. Med camp was rather amusing at points, depressing in others but overall motivating for me to commence hard core studying.... which is a good thing there is so much i dont know well enough to pass in an exam, but theres no use lamenting, only productivity will get me through this... I hope this motivation lasts.
One of the funny things on the weekend were the comperes being constantly trashed at the night time activities, and announcing random facts about themselves like Georgia saying "You knoww....I have a girl guidesh badge in pole danshing of all things... I'll show  ya if the price ish right" and there was the little incident of this short asian dude choosing to roundhouse a can off this girls head as his ''party trick'' to impress everyone and almost removing her head from her shoulders. The "pin the cytobrush on the cervix" was also rather amusing as three quarters of the guys doing it were gay and they ended up halfway up the thigh or in various other orifices lol, the girls were far superior with pin the finger on the prostate.
The other thing that got me thinking over the weekend was Casey announcing that a group of doctors from over east are going to Cambodia at the end of the year.... It seemed eerily co-incidental seeing as I do in some way regret not experiencing some third world medicine on elective placement at the start of this year, choosing instead to travel. It might give me a bit of a wider perspective on life (in a supported environment) and also could be a good opportunity to see if i want to do disaster medicine or third world medicine in the future. All in all i think i might go as long as i pass, I probably wont get the opportunity again too soon. The only other consideration is that all my friends might be going to Thailand around that time so id miss out... but meh ill see them all again as long as there isnt another Tsunami....
Last Friday was cool... I got to assist the senior reg in a thoracotomy and lung biopsy as all the other doctors scrubbed in had to go to the X-ray department as one of our patients was arresting. He complimented me on my suturing, saying i should reconsider surgery which was nice... especially in that Brazilian accent.
Neways I guess I better get back to it.
Adios amigos
