Today something very wonderful happened. I saw the little boy, Tony, my mom used to take care of when I was a child. The last time I had seen Tony he was about 3 or 4 and rocked a mullet (it was the early 90s). How I remember that mullet. He barely was able to speak. I remember only a few moments with him as a baby, some of him crying. I specifically remember going to his house a couple of times, but thats about it. I had almost forgotten about Tony until my mom came up to my car parked in front of CVS with a woman a little girl and a teenage.  Her eyes wide open with a mixture of joy and surprise, and said "Mira, te acuerdas de Tony?" I was like wtf Tony, who's that? and then I looked into this young boys face and saw traces of the baby Tony my mom took care of way back when. But there he was with his backpack on his back and a white tee shirt that had a USC logo on it. There was kind of a shock at first, to see this baby a boy now was a trip. I mean literally the last time I saw him, he was like 2 feet tall. I kind of felt old after realizing how long it had been, but it turns out Tony is now 15-years-old and attending a HS in partnership with USC. I was so happy to hear that he was still in school. He has a little sister now. His mother I recognized instantly. Apparently, his mom came up to my mom at the supermarket.

So there we were back in each others lives for that moment. All in different places. All I wanted to tell him was to keep on going. That if he would, he would be where I was maybe, getting my Masters, driving, living young adult hood. He was not there yet and being the first in his family to go to school in the US he is going to take his family far. At that moment all I wished for him was good. It was good to see him unexpectantly. It was wonderful to have crossed paths with this boy for a second time. Cause you know, things like these don't always happen but fate had all of us meet at least once more before we went our separate ways in to our respective unkowns in life.
