So, in just under a 24 hour period, Gustav went from being a tropical storm to a category 4 hurricane, with expectation of reaching cat 5 in another 12 hours. Meep!
I don't know how long this sequence will play out, but it's rather neat to see the eye develop from its Cat 2 stage to Cat 4.

We're now under a hurricane watch, so in the next 36 hours, this puppy's gonna make landfall somewhere between Texas and the Alabama/Florida border.
I haven't made much in the way of preparation due to always being in school or at work. In fact, tomorrow is the only day I have to really get ready.
If it does come this way... I think I'm kinda screwed... and not in a good way.
I still don't know where exactly I'm going to take shelter and what I'm going to do with the mutt and the cat.
*cue slight panic attack*
Then again, I could be getting neurotic for nothing if this stays on a westerly course.
If it does come this way, I'll update as I can via LJ and twitter... more likely twitter since text messaging will likely be the least affected.
