Originally uploaded by caitiehead. Oh, long weekend! How I love you and mourn your too-soon end. I even did family-related things on Family Day! Mainly, driving ALL OVER town with my dad trying to find an open grocery store to buy milk and eggs for my sick grandmother.
Dad: It's not a real holiday. Everything's going to be open.
Me: I don't think so.
Dad: Loblaws is definitely going to be open.
Loblaws: CLOSED.
Dad: That's so surprising! I bet A&P is open.
A&P: CLOSED.
Dad: I don't get it. It's not a real holiday! I bet Food Basics is open.
Me: Dad, I'm pretty sure if Loblaws is closed and A&P is closed, all the grocery stores are going to be closed.
Dad: Yeah, I guess.
Me: But it's okay, WalMart will be open for sure.
WalMart: CLOSED.
We ended up buying the milk and eggs at the variety store across the street from my grandmother's apartment building. Woo!
But yeah, so my dad is back from afar, for an as-yet-to-be-determined length of time. Eventually, he will head off to Oklahoma to do family things there, but for now he is mostly napping a lot, going to bed at 7:00 p.m. and getting up at 4:00 a.m. Yay, jetlag!

During holiday fic exchange season, when I was in heavy procrastination mode, I ended up joining spears_stills, and have submitted icons off and on, without great success (I am not an icon ninja). And then recently drakebellstills opened up, and I joined, because I figured it was a good way to get pictures of Drake Bell without actually having to go and look for them.
Anyhoo, apparently this was my week for icon greatness (ha!), because I somehow came in second at spears_stills and first at drakebellstills!
So, you know. Yay!
