1. Thanks for the birthday wishes, y'alls! Now I am old. And yet somehow still not quite grown up. WOE. But thank you! And especially to kiffle for the balloons! *hugs*
2. My current time-wasting game site of choice: Wellgames. I am particularly fond of Tangramz and Fitz. Though I've been stuck on the same level on Fitz for DAYS, which is somewhat disheartening.
3. From LJ at large: Look at your LJ userpics list. If you have fewer than 50 icons, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five icons, pick every seventh one. I have 122 icons out of a possible 138 uploaded, so I split the difference, and here are 13:
the duke of ted - Oh, Ted. I kind of want to redo this icon to make it sharper and take out the "Halo", but I do love it the way it is. When my best friend's littlest sister was a toddler, we trained her to hook her thumbs into the sides of an imaginary vest and say, "and I am the Duke of Ted!", which was pretty much the funniest thing ever.
this time I won't take it back - Screencap from Spaceballs! Hee. I wish I could have made a larger crop and still have had the text be legible, but alas. This is for times when I would like to blow myself up, generally due to my own stupidity. Keywords from Hanson's 'Misery'.
all veils and misty - Next to donkeys, great blue herons are about my favourite non-house-living creatures. There's something very regal and lonesome about them. I never use this icon, but I think it's so pretty. Keywords from INXS's 'Mystify'.
taste the happy - made by _jules_ from an Arrested Development screencap. Oh, Bluths. Season 3 was the only season I managed to watch in real time rather than on DVD, and oh. It was good.
still so young to travel so far - also made by _jules_, who I pressganged into making me a whole bunch of Sam and Dean icons halfway through the first season. Keywords from 'Distant Sun' by Crowded House, because my poor Winchester brothers, so many bad things happen to them and they are just babies!
more often than I've let it show - Dean is just so pretty, especially when he's all angst-ridden and close to death (screencap from Faith). Keywords from Longpig's 'On and On', which is also pretty and angst-filled.
what the what? - Oh, Legolas, elf of my heart. This is my confusion/what the hell is WRONG with you? icon, and it pleases me.
get down with your bad self - Somewhere around the middle of the S2 finale of Veronica Mars, Dick suddenly became my favourite character. And somehow that stuck, mostly. There is no logical explanation, but there you have it. I could probably claim many sources for the keywords, but the truth is that in my head, the line is totally from Steve Vai's 'Reaper Rap', from the Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey soundtrack. ("I totally loogied on that good dead me!" wouldn't fit.)
pokepokepoke - Molly! She never lies along the back of the couch anymore, but she used to, and that's where this photograph was taken. She isn't actually poking the camera so much as she just had her arm draped over the cushion, but she does look quite mischievous.
oh JARED! - I think this is a screencap from the Supernatural S1 blooper reel. Jared Padalecki is just so smiley and adorable, and I just want to hug him. Jared!
deservedly emo - Poor little LJ (from Prison Break). His dad is kind of stupid, and his stepdad sucks, and then his mom and stepdad get killed right in front of him and he gets framed for it and has to run around Chicago with NO SHOES and the only adult he knows who is not dead or in jail or currently trying to kill him won't even come and PICK HIM UP and he has to hide out in a cabin in the woods and then he has to knock the guy who's trying to kill him into a well and then go down into the well with the body days later to retrieve a cell phone and then he gets arrested and goes to jail and is generally used to get to his father and everything goes wrong for him and his life sucks and none of it is even his fault! So this icon is for when I'm having a day like that.
big time - Hee, Dean. Screencap and keywords from Playthings, when he's on about Sam and his doll collecting ways. Used for mockery, mainly.
but I love my skechers - Yay, Bones! I love Booth so, so much. I think David Boreanaz is improving with age or something, because I liked him in Buffy, I loved him in Angel, and I LOVE him in Bones. This icon is from the episode where they go to Los Angeles, and the keywords are from 10 Things I Hate About You.
4. Today I woke up lightheaded, and it hasn't gone away yet. Grrr. Last time this happened, I blamed it on MSG, which I guess could also be the explanation today, except that we had Salvadoran food last night, and I don't think they use MSG. But I guess I don't actually know that.
