1. Maroon 5: Secret
♫ This song starts off so slow and sexy and just gets hotter. I love the first few clapping guitar chords at the beginning. It just feels like summer.
I know I don't know you, but I want you so bad.
Everyone has a secret, but can they keep it?
2. Grace Potter & Nocturnals: Medicine
♫I would love to make this entire mix out of GPN songs, but it breaks my heart to give them away for free. This is my favorite band and they work so effing hard, you need to show them some love. This song is off their new album and it's a bluesy anthem that was made for dancing. Ahmazing.
She shook her hips and her long black hair, now all my baby does is stare.
3. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club: Ain't No Easy Way
♫Bit of an old song, but it's great gritty rock from a great band. Feels like a roadtripping, playing drums on the steering wheel kind of song.
It's easy to fall in love, but there ain't no easy way out.
4. Sonia Dada: Lover (You Don't Treat Me No Good More)
♫There's this crazy country version of this song that I heard a few weeks ago and it made me want to find the original. Great acoustic guitar, sing-along tune, with bonus clapping. It straddles a weird line between reggae and gospel.
There was a time, oh woman, when you used to shake it for me, but now all you do is you treat me cold.
5. Mumford & Sons: Cave
♫This band kept showing up on my tumblr and I finally had to go check them out. Crazy great folksy rock, with an actual banjo and plenty of piano/ acoustic guitar. Lead singer's got an interesting voice, too.
It's empty in the valley of your heart
The sun, it rises slowly as you walk away from all the fears and all the faults you've left behind.
6. Joe Firstman: Chasing You Down
♫I found this album shoved under my bed a couple days ago and I've been playing it nonstop. This guy is an amazing songwriter and I love how broken-hearted and raw his lyrics are. Great piano rock.
Time is money but I ain't old enough to spend my shiny pennies on a pawn.
7. Aerosmith: Dude Looks Like a Lady
♫ Do I need to explain this song? Great for rocking the hell out.
Baby, let me follow you down.
8. Hot Chocolate: You Sexy Thing
♫This is on a commercial for something and I downloaded it. It will get stuck in your head for days and it's the greatest thing because when you start singing it under your breath, at least two people around you will have to sing along.
I believe in miracles! Where you from, you sexy thing?
I believe in miracle since you came along, you sexy thing.
9. Eminem: Cinderella Man
♫I have loved Eminem since I was in fifth grade. This song makes me want to- mosh, or something. Get crunk, maybe?
Now ya'll are on thin ice with ankle weights, I'd hate to lie.
How f*cking irritated are you, how much in your face am I?
10. Mr. Big: Be With You
♫Oldie but goodie. More clapping and acoustic guitar. I think that always makes for a good sing-along song, which this definitely is.
Wake up, who cares about little boys who talk to much?
Come on baby, come on over, let me be the one to hold you.
11. Grace Potter & the Nocturnals: Arizona (Kings of Leon cover)
♫Love this song, love her freaking voice. Best KoL cover ever. Too too awesome.
She shakes like the morning railway.
Ch-ch-checking me out.
12. Joe Firstman: Saving All the Love
♫More sweet piano rock with great lyrics. This song has such a slow, lullaby rhythm to it.
You would invite me in on a whim, I'd stay as long as you let me.
