In vacation news:
I didn't have time to call Olympic Airlines this week to arrange my Athens-Santorini flight. Boo! So, while I was online this morning, I figured WTH...I might as well try booking it online one more time. And lo and behold, it worked! I note that I can't book my actual seats until I check in online the day before the flight, but at least the tickets themselves are sorted. The only thing that remains to be organized is how to get from home to Logan Airport, since I'm SO not paying for airport parking for 10 days! There's a van service that will pick me up at the Andover Park & Ride, so I'm going to look into that, since it's probably my cheapest option and would also save me from being the one driving into downtown Boston on a Friday morning.
I also went onto Delta's website and made sure I would have window seats on 3 of my 4 flights (the 4th isn't available to change yet). Window seats rule, even if all there is to see is the ocean. :-)
This morning, I've been working on figuring out whether it would make sense for me to bring my laptop with me. The answer seems to be "yes". As long as I get a surge protected outlet adaptor, everything should work fine. And the hotel has free internet in every room, so I'll officially still be connected. This also means I'll be able to upload my digital pics as I go and won't have to worry that I'll run out of space on my memory card. NTS, though--get another camera battery, just in case. I've had batteries die on vacation before, and it's a real PIA.
Now, to figure out whether or not it'll be possible to use my phone. Hm. Also, how to import alcohol into Massachusetts, should I care to bring home any tasty Santorini wine (which is probable). There must be a way...I just need to figure out what it is. It was pretty complicated to do in Vermont, but once I found the right lady to help me, she was remarkably accommodating. Hopefully, her friendly sister works at the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission in Boston. :-)
