Here's a deep question for the day...
I was born here in the United States.
Friendship and confidant aside, do you consider me to be a "fellow American?" Or do you simply consider me a person who just happens to live here in America?
What does it mean to be a "fellow American?"
If you do not consider me a fellow American, then am I merely a stranger living here in America that should mostly stay out of your way until I prove I'm a "fellow" to you, personally?
EDIT: P.S. I have appreciated everyone's feedback on the question. I wanted to poke at other people's minds to see their responses. However, I do admit, I did have a level of expectation of the responses leaning to one side due to the company I usually keep here on LiveJournal and Facebook. However, I wanted to know if my question/worry is justified or if someone here knew someone personally that shared the mindset of unknown people being untrustworthy strangers by default.
