I just recalled an interesting dream that I had the other night.
I was in Las Vegas with some friends (this really happened, so that part of the dream is no mystery) but the odd part comes in when this hotel in Vegas is an island beach tropical resort by day and an Arctic tundra by night.
[I'm thinking the difference of temperature was exaggerated by my subconscious.]
So at some point during the day, some friends and I got separated and the sun crept below the horizon, we then had to contend with below freezing temperatures to get back to our hotel room safely. When we did, we had to gather our winter supplies, and prepare to go out into the cold to find them. We layered our clothes and put on these funky thermal jackets that had radios built into them for communication. Apparently once you lost sight of someone in the snow you could get lost easily. We also had loads of military grade glowsticks, large ones that would last for hours and were brighter than the ones you’d find at novelty stores. We had to use them to mark our way through the snow. One of our friends was supposed to stay behind and track our movements using GPS (also built into our coats along with the radios) and help us maintain a proper search grid.
None of this seemed new to me in the dream, which was awesome and a little disconcerting when I think about it now. Never did get to find out if we found our other friends, hopefully they made it to morning.
