Christmas Eve was my first ever live concert and I gave all my 60 dollars to jay chou 周杰伦. He sounded like he has a cold, stuff nose. I don't think that was enough for him to cancel the concert since most of the seats in the Galen center were filled, even the 288 vip ones. probably half of the chinese in socal were there. my co-workers and I got there 2 hours early to avoid the traffic. the concert started half an hour late, i was getting alittle restless by then. at 8, the lights finally dimmed. i think most of the songs are okay, he didn't really sing many new songs, one song from "the secret" soundtrack and two from his new album. the invited group, 南拳妈妈 which he formed, sang quite a few songs. I almost got confused who is the main singer there for a moment. around 10, he said that was going to be his last song. I was like, that can't be happening. tony said he is 90 percent that there was going to be encore, so i waited anxiously. as the stage lights started lighting up, people throw their glow sticks to the center area, we felt sorry for those who sat there. tony was right, the lights dimmed again, jay sang 4 more songs afterwards. everyone was yelling and screaming, i think that was the climax of the whole show. on our way back to the parking structure, we saw a big hummer limo, amy said that it could be jay's car. the three of us stood in the cold waited across the street (security guards won't let us get close) just to get a last look at jay and we are not even his crazy fans. in amy's words, we are like 狗崽队. it's not an easy job, but somebody got to do it. =) after 45 min, jay finally showed up. he waved at the 20 some people standing across the street. at least he acknowledged our existence. mmm... that was some hard work.
merry christmas my readers!
