Favorite pony (G4)
When I first joined the herd in 2014, I related to Rainbow Dash's ADHD while admiring Applejack's loyalty and salt-of-the-earth gumption. In short, her "Hufflepuffness." (My living in the Midwest for a time probably influenced that.) But even I could see a lot of myself in Twilight Sparkle with regards to her adorkable personality and nerdy STEM interests. I wish I was as prolific a bookworm as her! Sci-Twi counts, too. (And Rarity's acumen.)
Ten years later, should I now list Twilight Sparkle / Sci-Twi as my favorite pony? It would be pretty honest of me to do so. A part of me feels sad that I'll let go of Applejack, though, the "background pony."
Or I could just toggle through Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, and occasionally Rarity. The same applies to background ponies as needed for inspiration.
