Happy new year everyone! After a long holiday of hockey, falling snow by the foot, hosting parties, seeing friends, family and everyone else, things are beginning to settle down again and I apologize for my little holiday hiatus. I do hope that the New Year came to you with those you love, that the champagne was cold and bubbly, and the kisses flew with reckless abandon at midnight!
Backing up a little to Christmas, it was lovely. Nikki celebrated and met my family on both sides and as stressful as that might sound for a Christmas Day outing, she handled it gracefully and my family was happy to meet her. She loved her presents as I hoped she would, and we had a wonderful Christmas Eve together after she drove sixteen hours through the day to get here. Truly an amazing girl! New Years evening was spent at a lovely restaurant, eating mussels, oysters and duck then moving on to dancing at a hilarious nineties-night at a local dance club to ring in the new year. It was exceedingly fun and couldn't have been much better.
But now that the festivities are generally subduing slowly and that the hectic Christmas season is officially over, it is time to work off the turkey-legs and get back to training, as I type this Nikki is out and about looking for an acrobatic gym for us to practice in, and I just finished my daily conditioning. The muscles are sore, but not much ability has been lost over the week we took off for the holidays. Working on sending out more press kits to festivals, hoping that they'll like the new promotional material and subsequently book me and my show. On that note, Nikki and I started brainstorming for the new show yesterday and we think there's going to be a lot of good and technically exciting tricks in there!
For now though, no work until February 27th, and I think that's enough time to start driving me a little crazy. But that means more blogging, more training, and more preparing for the busy season that will be upon us from March until the end of August. Once again, I apologize about my holiday sabbatical and I wanted to let you all know I'm still here. Entries are backlogged a bit but I've got a lot more to write in the following weeks. Now, the quick obligatory New Years Resolution list!
