A Touch of Fate- Chapter two
After Olivia was dropped off at her spot everyone headed for the stadium to get their seats. Kenzie was chasing after Logan who was running ahead.
“Get back here” Kenzie said catching up to him. Logan laughed until Kenzie picked him up and he started screeching “I gotcha now” Kenzie pretended to eat his belly making him laugh out loud.
“They are so cute” Grace said
“Aren't they?” Mamie said “Mimi used to be that cute”
Mimi (11) turned around and glared “Hey! I heard that”
Both Grace and Mamie laughed “I'm only joking. You are still cute”
“I'll race you Mimi” Liam (8) said
Mimi smiled “Okay!”
“Be careful” Louisa said as they took off running
“When are you going to give me a grand child, Grace?” Meryl asked out of the blue
Grace gave her a look “Where on earth is this coming from? Why don't you bug Henry about giving you grand kids”
“Don't you think you have enough, Mom?” Kenzie said tuning in on the conversation
“I just want more grand kids” Meryl said
“Don't look at me. I don't even know how I ended up with Logan.” Kenzie said
“I am definitely not having another one. Liam is enough for me”
“Same here. Mimi is enough”
“And I'm not having none” Grace simply said
“Oh come on” Meryl said
“Can we drop this conversation?” Grace asked and went ahead of everyone
“I don't even want to think about being a grandparent. I'm thirty five years old and I have a feeling Josh will be telling me very soon that he is going to be a dad”
“It's the best feeling in the world to be a Grandma. You'll love it” Meryl said with a smile.
They started going up into their seats. There was already a lot of people there. Meryl and Kenzie were helping Logan walk up the steps when suddenly someone yelled “Kenzie” She turned around and looked at the woman waving her hand. Her mouth about hit the floor.
“Amber?” She turned back to Meryl “Holy sh....” She stopped herself and looked down at Logan “shikes.. umm Logan go with Grandma. I'll be right back” Meryl picked him up and took him the rest of the way. She turned back around and walked towards Amber who she hasn't seen in years.
“Hey Kenzie! I haven't seen you in so long” She pulled her into a tight hug
It was so good to see her old best friend here. She really has missed her “I know! What brings you here?”
“My step daughter is graduating.” She pointed to her husband “That's my husband, Ryan. We have been married almost five years now and the little boy next to him is my son. He will be six.”
“He is adorable.” Kenzie smiled “Glad to hear you landed yourself a husband”
“Thank you! He's definitely a good man. So what brings you hear?”
“Olivia is graduating”
Amber's eyes widened “Your kidding? Wow! The last time I saw her was when she was just a little thing”
“I know! It's hard to believe.” Logan came slowly booking down the stairs to Kenzie. Kenzie laughed “What are you doing silly boy” She picked him up. “This is my son Logan. He will be two”
Amber smiled at him “He definitely looks a lot like Carter. Hi Logan” She said with a smile
Logan smiled “Hi!”
“Well I better get to my seat. If you see us when this is all over come say hi to Olivia.”
“Oh I will” She hugged her old friend tight and smiled “It's so nice to see you”
Kenzie smiled “Same to you” Logan waved at her making both of them smile. Kenzie took her seat beside Carter.
“Was that Amber?” Meryl asked
“Yeah! I haven't seen her in years. I think the last time I saw her was when Olivia was 12”
“Wow!” Meryl said. The whole family talked until the music started, they all started looking for Olivia.
“Do you see her yet?” Grace asked
“No!” Everyone said
Don pointed to the sixth girl in line “There she is”
“Where?” Kenzie asked eagerly and started taking pictures
“Sixth one in”
They all looked and started waving and yelling out her name. Logan smiled and started jumping up and down and yelling “SISSY!” Making Olivia look over with a smile and waved to her family.
“I think I'm gonna cry” Louisa said waving her hand by her face
Josh looked at all of them “You guys were never this emotional at mine” They all ignored his comment and sat down.
About twenty minutes in Logan started fussing about sitting still which was frustrating Makenzie. “Logan, stop it” She said adjusting him to her other leg
“Sissy” He whined and wanted down.
“You will see her soon. Now stop it right now.” Kenzie said getting really frustrated. He started whining again. Just as Carter was about to say something, Grace looked over at them and spoke before he could.
“Logan!” She said in a low tone. He looked over at her “Come here” She said harshly. He looked at her and held onto Kenzie. He never liked it when Aunt Grace took authority whenever he was being bad. Kenzie happily set him down and he walked over to Grace. She picked him up and set him on her lap. After a few words he sat there on her lap and behaved. Kenzie looked at Grace and smiled.
After what seemed like forever they finally started calling names. Olivia stood in line and was next in line. She couldn't believe she was finally receiving her diploma. Kenzie,Her sisters,and Meryl were already in tears before her name was even called. Carter held Kenzie's hand.
“Olivia Louise Barrington” The Principal finally said. Olivia smiled as all her family screamed and cheered. She looked over and smiled at all of them. She waved to her little buddy who was screaming his head off. She noticed her aunts,Grandma,and her mother were crying also. Carter had a proud smile on his face.
“You guys are such babies” Henry said
Louisa punched him in the arm “Shut up!” She said wiping a tear away.
“Hey if you had any kids or grand kids you would feel the same way” Meryl said
“Yeah yeah yeah” Henry said
After turning of the tassels and throwing their hats up Kenzie hardly had any tears left. They all met her on the field. As soon as Logan spotted her he went running towards her shouting her name.
“Hey bud” She kissed his cheek and saw the rest of her family walking towards her.
“You see me?” Logan asked
“I sure did. How could I ever miss you?” She said with a chuckle. She set him down but he stood right by her not moving an inch. Grace was the first one to hug Olivia. Kenzie began to cry again when she hugged her daughter.
“I'm so proud of you” She wiped away a few tears when she looked at Olivia
“Thanks, Mom”
“How about giving, Grandma some sugar”
All the grand kids gave Meryl a look “Really Grandma? Who even says that anymore?” Mimi said
“Oh hush” Meryl said and pulled Olivia into her arms “I love you my sweets”
“I love you too, Grandma”
Soon Olivia was taking pictures with her friends and crying herself. Amber came walking up smiling at Olivia. Olivia looked at her and instantly knew it was her. A smile reached her lips and she ran over to her taking Amber by surprise. “Oh my gosh, Amber.” She said putting her arms around her “Does Mom know your here?”
“Yeah! I saw her walking by me. You graduated with my step daughter Kayla”
“Kayla Granger?”
“That's her”
“Oh my gosh. She's one of my good friends. How did I not know you were her step mom”
“I don't know, but I'm very proud of you, Olivia. I'm so glad I got to see you graduate”
“Me too” She said giving her another hug.
“There you are” Kenzie said walking up to them
“Oh, sorry Mom. I had to talk to Amber. How long has it been since we last saw her?”
“You were twelve.”
“Oh wow” Olivia said
“We need to get together more often. It's like you fell off the face of the planet or something.”
Olivia looked at her mother and saw she was tense. Olivia grew uncomfortable whenever somebody would mention they haven't seen her mother in a while because the truth was Kenzie in fact had actually died a few years back and she brought her back. Amber saw the switch in mood and grew concerned.
“Did I say something wrong?”
Kenzie nodded and put on a smile “No!” She quickly changed the subject “We really need to get going. Um give me a call sometime. We really should get together”
“Oh how about coming to my birthday party in a couple weeks?” Olivia asked
“I will let you know, okay?”
“Okay” Olivia said with a smile
They all hugged and exchanged numbers. They all went home and celebrated the day as a family with laughs and watched home videos.
“Can I stay with you tonight Aunt Kenzie?” Mimi asked
“That is entirely up to your mother”
Mimi ran over to Mamie “Mom! Can I stay with Aunt Kenzie tonight? Pretty please?” She asked
“I guess so”
“YAY” She turned around but her mother grabbed her hand “What?”
“Aren’t you going to say good bye to your Uncle Henry? He's going to Grandma's”
“Oh yeah” She gave him a quick hug “Bye Uncle Henry. Love you”
“Bye! Love you too” He said as she ran off.
“She said yes”
“Okay!” Everyone said goodbye to Henry, Don,and Meryl. Olivia ended up going with her grandparents for the night.
“Alright I guess we better get going too” Louisa said
“Do we have too?” Liam asked in a whiny voice
“Yes we have too” She said mocking his whiny tone
“Alright! I'll see you guys soon” Kenzie said
“Okay! Love you” Louisa said giving her a hug
“Love you too” She turned her attention to Liam “Bye, Liam. I'll see you soon”
“Okay! Love you” He said putting his arms around her neck
Kenzie smiled. She loved it when her niece and nephew would hug her like this. She loved them to death “I love you too, bud” Louisa and Liam left and as soon as the front door was closed Liam looked up at Louisa.
“Mom! She'll be there tomorrow right?” Liam asked in all seriousness
Louisa stopped walking, looked down at Liam. No matter how many times she has reassured him that his aunt was here for good he would still ask this question every now and then. He was terrified that she wouldn't be there and she was the only one that knew about this. She didn't have the heart to tell anyone this was going on.
“Yes, Liam. She will be here tomorrow. She will always be here. She's not going anywhere babe”
“You promise?”
“Would I ever lie to you?”
“No”
“Then stop worrying. Aunt Kenzie is alive and healthy.” She kissed his forehead “Now lets go home” She smiled and it faded when he looked away from her. She knew her sister was not going anywhere but why did she feel so sad? The truth is nobody was ever really over her dieing even though she was right there in the flesh. They cherish every moment with her.
“Are you staying here tonight?” Kenzie asked Grace
“I don't know----” Grace was interrupted by Mimi
“OH!! Aunt Grace come on you HAVE to stay. We could have a little girls night.” Mimi said with a huge smile.
Grace smiled. “Alright I guess I'll stay”
“YAY!” She hugged Grace. “What are we gonna do?”
“Well first I need to put Logan to bed then we can figure something out”
“Already done” Carter said walking into the room.
“Oh good. Thank you” She said giving him a kiss
“No problem”
“Why don't you stay with us tonight, Mamie? Could be a little sister bonding”
“Yeah that's a good idea” Kenzie said
“Oh what the heck. Why not?” Mamie said
“Sweet” Grace said
All four girls were sitting on the floor eating popcorn, laughing at old memories they were sharing.
“Oh my gosh, Grace. Do you remember when Dad and Henry were fishing and Mom ended up taking a picture of them and when the pictures were developed the freaking cats tail was right near Dad's crotch” Mamie and Grace started laughing so hard
“Yes! Oh my gosh. You HAVE to see this picture, Kenzie”
“Does Mom still have it?” Kenzie asked
“I think so.” Grace said
Mimi just looked at the three of them. She looked at Kenzie and decided to sit on her aunts lap taking her by surprise. “I love you, Aunt Kenzie”
“I love you too, Mimi” She wrapped her arms around her.
“What am I? Chopped liver?” Grace asked
Mimi chuckled a little “Oh yeah I love you too” She said
“You little” She grabbed Mimi out of Kenzie's lap and started tickling her making all of them laugh.
Mimi was in full blown laughter “Okay okay. I give up”
Grace stopped “Awe has Mimi had enough?”
“Yes!”
“Alright” She sat her up and then she started going towards Kenzie again so she pulled her back “Hey! You get to see her all the time. What about your aunt Grace, who lives all the way in LA and never gets to see you”
“Okay! Fine” She sat in Grace's lap and then all of them started chatting again. Soon everyone grew tired. They all made a bed on the floor and put pillows down. Mimi slept between her mom and Aunt Grace. Mimi sat up when she realized Kenzie wasn't sleeping with them
“You aren’t sleeping with us?” Mimi asked
“No! I'm gonna be upstairs”
“Awe! Bummer”
“Good night girls. I'll see you in the morning”
“Good night. Love you” All three of them said
“Love you too”
Kenzie went upstairs and crawled in bed beside Carter. She smiled at his peaceful face and gently kissed him on the cheek. Carter stirred and opened his eyes and saw his beautiful wife looking at him.
“Sorry! Didn't mean to wake you”
“It's perfectly alright” He moved closer to her and kissed her. “Today was an awesome day”
Kenzie smiled “It sure was” She kissed him back. Soon their hands roamed each others bodies and started ripping each others clothes off. Carter looked into Kenzie's eyes and watched her facial expression as he slowly entered her. She moaned and closed her eyes. He smashed their lips together and quickened the pace.
“Oh god, Carter” She said. She wrapped her legs around his waist and started moaning. “Harder” He did as she requested. He finally started to hit her sweet spot. “Holy shit....Mmm” Kenzie moaned.
“Come with my baby” Carter said. He did a couple hard and deep thrust and they both found their release. Carter kissed her passionately and pulled out of her.
“You are awesome” Kenzie said
“And so aren’t you”
“Why aren't you sleeping with your sisters and niece?”
“I don't know”
Carter moved some hair away from her face “You should go downstairs and sleep with them. I'm sure their not sleeping.”
“You sure?”
“Yes”
“Okay!” She kissed him and got up to get dressed

“You sleeping?” Mamie asked in a whisper to Grace. Mimi was already passed out.
“No!”
“Good! It feels so weird laying here without Kenzie” Mamie said
“I know! Do you still find it hard to believe she's back after all these years?”
Mamie looked at her sister but couldn't really see her “A little. I think that's why Mimi is so attached to Kenzie whenever she see's her.”
“Yeah!” Grace sighed “I try to forget about it but I always end up thinking about it.”
“We have nothing to worry about. Kenzie is very much alive and not going anywhere.” They both stopped talking when they heard someone coming down the stairs and enter the living room. A pillow was dropped next to Mamie and she looked over. “Nice of you to join us”
Kenzie smiled “I know!” She laid down next to her sister and they all were silent. She ended up hearing the last part of their conversation but didn't want to say anything. She put it in the back of her mind and thought of how lucky she was to have this time with her sisters.

“Okay! Fine” She sat in Grace's lap and then all of them started chatting again. Soon everyone grew tired. They all made a bed on the floor and put pillows down. Mimi slept between her mom and Aunt Grace. Mimi sat up when she realized Kenzie wasn't sleeping with them
“You aren’t sleeping with us?” Mimi asked
“No! I'm gonna be upstairs”
“Awe! Bummer”
“Good night girls. I'll see you in the morning”
“Good night. Love you” All three of them said
“Love you too”
Kenzie went upstairs and crawled in bed beside Carter. She smiled at his peaceful face and gently kissed him on the cheek. Carter stirred and opened his eyes and saw his beautiful wife looking at him.
“Sorry! Didn't mean to wake you”
“It's perfectly alright” He moved closer to her and kissed her. “Today was an awesome day”
Kenzie smiled “It sure was” She kissed him back. Soon their hands roamed each others bodies and started ripping each others clothes off. Carter looked into Kenzie's eyes and watched her facial expression as he slowly entered her. She moaned and closed her eyes. He smashed their lips together and quickened the pace.
“Oh god, Carter” She said. She wrapped her legs around his waist and started moaning. “Harder” He did as she requested. He finally started to hit her sweet spot. “Holy shit....Mmm” Kenzie moaned.
“Come with my baby” Carter said. He did a couple hard and deep thrust and they both found their release. Carter kissed her passionately and pulled out of her.
“You are awesome” Kenzie said
“And so aren’t you”
“Why aren't you sleeping with your sisters and niece?”
“I don't know”
Carter moved some hair away from her face “You should go downstairs and sleep with them. I'm sure their not sleeping.”
“You sure?”
“Yes”
“Okay!” She kissed him and got up to get dressed
~~~~Living Room~~~
“You sleeping?” Mamie asked in a whisper to Grace. Mimi was already passed out.
“No!”
“Good! It feels so weird laying here without Kenzie” Mamie said
“I know! Do you still find it hard to believe she's back after all these years?”
Mamie looked at her sister but couldn't really see her “A little. I think that's why Mimi is so attached to Kenzie whenever she see's her.”
“Yeah!” Grace sighed “I try to forget about it but I always end up thinking about it.”
“We have nothing to worry about. Kenzie is very much alive and not going anywhere.” They both stopped talking when they heard someone coming down the stairs and enter the living room. A pillow was dropped next to Mamie and she looked over. “Nice of you to join us”
Kenzie smiled “I know!” She laid down next to her sister and they all were silent. She ended up hearing the last part of their conversation but didn't want to say anything. She put it in the back of her mind and thought of how lucky she was to have this time with her sisters.
