A Touch Of Fate-Chapter 1
Kenzie was in the family room looking at all the pictures of Olivia. She couldn't believe her baby girl was graduating high school. She picked up a picture of her and Olivia when she was a baby and smiled, she put the picture back and took in a sharp breath. She couldn't wait to see Josh who was flying in from LA where he now lived with his fiance Jennifer. Carter walked into the room and noticed something was on Kenzie's mind. He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her cheek.
“What's on your beautiful mind? You seem to be lost in thought”
Kenzie sighed and looked back at the pictures of Olivia “Just can't believe our baby girl graduating”
“I know! Seems just like yesterday you were in the hospital”
Kenzie smiled “I know!” Kenzie turned to face Carter and kissed him.”Where's Logan?”
“I told him to hide and I'll come find him” Soon there was the sound of feet running on the floor and giggling. Kenzie laughed a little and waited. Logan who was now one going on two walked into the family room. He looked at both of them with his bright blue eyes and smiled. Kenzie couldn't help but smile back.
“Mama” He said with excitement and ran over to her.
“Hi baby boy” She picked him up and kissed his cheek
“I thought I told you to hide you silly boy” Carter said and poked his stomach making him laugh.
Kenzie laughed “Is daddy silly?”
“Mhm” Logan fought to get down so she set him on the floor and he looked back up at her “Sissy”
“Sissy will be back” Ever since Logan could talk he has called Olivia sissy. They tried to get him to say Olivia but she would just say sissy instead.
“Bye bye?”
“Yep! She went with a couple friends” The front door opened.
“Hello?” Josh called out. “We're here” Everyone instantly smiled. Logan screamed and ran out to his brother.
“OSH” He yelled
Josh smiled and picked his little brother up “Hey bud” He raised his hand “High five” Logan smiled and smacked his little hand on his. Josh and Jennifer laughed “You remember Jennifer right?” Logan looked at her and nodded. Josh looked over and smiled at his parents “Hi Mom and Dad”
“Hi” They both said and gave him a hug
“Nice to see you again Jenn” Kenzie hugged her
“Nice to see you again too”
“How's everything going out in LA?” Kenzie asked them
“Good! We see Aunt Grace a lot”
“Well that's good” Kenzie said “She's coming for Olivia's graduation right?” Kenzie knew nothing, She hasn't spoken to none of her sister's or brother in weeks. Grace was busy with things in LA, Mamie was now shooting a new movie, Louisa was always busy with the magazine around this time of the year, and Henry was traveling with his band.
“I believe so.”
“Good” Kenzie's cell phone started ringing and she sighed “Probably your grandmother for the millionth time today”
Josh laughed “You know how she gets with these things”
“Yeah I know” She answered her phone “Hi Mom”
“Hey! What time does graduation start?”
Kenzie sighed “Mom you know this please don't make me say it again”
“I just want to hear it again. I just can't believe my grand baby is graduating.”
“I know! I'm not repeating myself, Mom. I've said it twice.”
“Alright fine then”
“I'll see you at five, Mom”
“Okay! Love you”
“I love you too! Bye” She hung up and sighed “She is such a pain.”
“Can't blame her for being excited” Carter said
“I know”
“I'm going to take our bags upstairs” Josh said
“Okay!”
Josh turned to Jenn “Do you want to go with me or stay down here?”
“I'll stay down here” Jenn kissed him on the cheek
“Me go” Logan said
Josh laughed a little “You wanna help?”
“Yeah”
“Okay! Lets go” Logan grabbed one end of the suitcase. Josh helped him with it “Whoa! Such a strong boy” Josh said making Logan and everyone else smile.
Kenzie turned to Jenn “So have you two set a date for the wedding yet?”
“We were thinking November of next year but we aren’t sure yet”
“Oh nice!” The door suddenly opened and Olivia stepped inside. She immediately smiled when she saw Jennifer.
“Hey Jenn!” Olivia hugged her tight
“Hey! Congratulations” She said hugging her back
“Thank you! Where's my brother?”
“He went to take our stuff upstairs” Jennifer said
“Oh!” When did you get in?”
“Just a few minutes ago”
“Nice! So glad you guys made it.”
“We wouldn't miss it for the world” Jennifer said with a smile. Olivia smiled back. Olivia looked at her mother and smiled, Kenzie smiled back at her with tears in her eyes.
“Oh please don't start that, Mom”
Kenzie wiped her eyes “I can't help it. My baby girl is graduating today”
“She's proud of you” Jennifer said
“I know!” Olivia said.
“SISSY!” Logan suddenly screeched making Kenzie and Olivia jump. He smiled and ran towards her, Olivia smiled and picked him up.
“Hi bud” Kenzie smiled at the two of them. Ever since he was born they were close. Logan adored her and she absolutely loved him to death. There was even a time when he was really sick when he was just four months old and she blew off her friends because she was worried and wanted to help.
~~~~~Flashback to that night~~~~
Kenzie was soothing Logan who was non stop crying. He has been throwing up a lot, had an upset stomach and an ear ache. Carter was at work, Josh was in LA, and Olivia was going out with friends. Kenzie was over tired and starting to get overwhelmed.
Olivia could hear Logan screaming in the other room. She had a sad look on her face and decided to call her friend.
“Hey! I can't hang out. My little brother is really sick and I can't leave my mom like that.”
“Come on girl, We planned on this weeks ago. Your mom will be fine”
“I'm sorry but I think my brother's health and my mom's sanity is more important than going to the mall and stuff.”
“Okay your loss” The friend hung up and Olivia made a face. She threw her stuff on her bed and went downstairs to find Kenzie sitting on the couch trying to calm the baby down. Kenzie was almost in tears because he has been crying for an hour straight. Kenzie looked at Olivia with a horrifying look.
“I thought you were going out with some friends?” She asked bouncing the baby
Olivia nodded “I couldn't leave you like this.” She held out her hands “Let me take him” Kenzie let her take him
“You didn't have to do that”
Olivia gave her a look “Yes I did. His health and your sanity is more important than going to the mall” Kenzie smiled and tears rolled down her face.
“Thank you!”
“Anything for you two” She smiled and looked down at her crying brother. She started rubbing his tummy and swaying back and forth “Shh” she kept saying “Sissy's here” Kenzie watched her with him and smiled. Her eyes soon became heavy and she fell asleep. Logan finally started to calm down. “See..” She stopped talking when she noticed Kenzie was asleep. Her poor mother had been exhausted. Olivia looked down at Logan who was now sleeping “I'll always be here for you”

“Were you helping Josh?” Olivia asked
“Mhm!” Olivia smiled and kissed his forehead and looked up to see Josh walking downstairs. She smiled and set Logan down and ran over to Josh, hugging him.
“I've missed you so much” Olivia said
“I know! I guess I missed you too” Olivia smacked his arm “I'm only joking”
“You better be” Olivia suddenly turned to Jenn “Oh my gosh, Jenn you HAVE to see the dress I got for graduation” She said with excitement
“Why don't you just go put it on?” Carter said
“Because it's to early to put it on.”
Kenzie looked at the clock “It's three thirty, Olivia. Everybody is coming over at five. I know how long it takes you to do your hair and make up” Kenzie said with a chuckle
“Yeah I guess your right”
“I know I am”
“Wanna come help me get ready, Jenn?”
Jenn looked at Kenzie who smiled a little and nodded to let her know it was okay. Jenn looked back at Olivia and smiled a little. She felt really guilty that she asked her instead of her mother. “Sure”
“Awesome” She grabbed her hand and took her up the stairs.
“She really loves Jenn” Carter said
“I know! Ever since day one she has” Kenzie said
“That's a good thing” Josh said. He looked between his parents “You guys like her don't you?”
“Of coarse we do, Josh! We would of told you already if we didn't like her”
Josh relaxed a little “Good!”
~~~~Olivia's room~~~~~
Olivia went into her bathroom and put the dress on. It was knee length, There was one gold strap on the shoulder, and and a gold sparkly belt around the waist. She walked out of the bathroom and Jenn instantly smiled.
“So beautiful”
“Thank you!”
“How are you going to do your hair?”
“Probably just going to curl it. I have to wear the stupid cap anyway”
“Yeah that is true”
Olivia plugged in the curling iron and then Jenn started doing her makeup. When the curling Iron was hot Jenn started doing her hair.
“So what are you going to do after you graduate?” Jenn asked
Olivia sighed “I got accepted into the University of Alabama but I don't know.”
“Olivia you should really go to college”
“I know but I don't want to leave home”
“Why?”
Olivia looked at herself in the mirror and looked down “I guess I'm just scared”
Jenn stopped curling her hair “Of what?”
“Of growing up. I have never been away from my family for long periods of time. My Grandma is almost eighty years old and I'm always afraid that she could go any day and Logan, it's just to hard to leave him. He's my buddy.” Tears were streaming down Olivia's face. Jenn turned her around to face her.
“You shouldn't put your life on hold. Yeah it might be hard going away from your family but you have to do it someday. Your grandma is not going anywhere. She is going on seventy-nine. She doesn't even look a day over sixty. Live your life, Olivia. You'll regret it someday.”
Olivia took all of this in. She really didn't want to leave home. She was really close to her family. Tears were streaming down her face “Were you this scared when you graduated?”
“Yeah but after I got to college and made new friends it wasn't so bad but whatever you do I'll support you, all of us will.”
Olivia smiled and hugged her “Thank you so much! I love you”
Jenn smiled “I love you too! Now lets finish your hair” She turned Olivia back around, Olivia stared at herself in the mirror with doubt on her face.
~~~~Living room~~~~
Josh was playing with Logan on the floor and Kenzie and Carter were laughing at them. The door bell rang
“I got it” Kenzie said and ran to the door. She opened it and a huge smile spread across her face.
“HENRY!!” Kenzie practically jumped in his arms and hugged him.
“Hey sis!” He hugged her back.
“So glad you're hear” Kenzie shut the door behind him
“I wouldn't miss my niece's graduation for the world”
Kenzie smiled “It is so good to see you. It's seriously been months when we last saw each other.”
“I know! Been busy in the studio and all that.” Carter came to see who was at the door and smiled
“Hey! Henry my man. How you been?” They both did an arm hug and patted each others back
“I've been good. Keepin busy with the music. How about you?”
“That's good! I've been great.”
“Good good”
Kenzie looked around for his luggage “Where's your stuff?”
“Oh! It's at Mom's. I'll be staying there”
“Oh okay”
“Where's my nephews and niece?”
“Olivia is upstairs with Jenn getting ready and the other two are in the living room”
“Ahh! Well I shall go see them” Henry walked towards the living room “Where's is my little nephew at?” Henry called out and entering into the living room
Logan smiled and stood up “Ree” He ran up to Henry and hugged him “Mished oo”
“I've missed you too, bud” Henry looked at Josh “Hi Josh”
“Hi Uncle Henry”
“How are you doing in LA?”
“Good! I love it out there”
“That's good! I knew you would” Henry said with a smile
“Yeah except now he's further away from me” Kenzie whined
“Well I can't stay here forever, Mom. You still have a lot of years left with Logan.”
“I know but still”
“I can already tell she's going to be a basket case” Henry said
“No kidding.” Josh said
“Hey! Shut up” Kenzie said
Henry laughed “Oh stop! We're just picking”
“Nothing new there” Kenzie said. The door bell rang again and this time it was Mamie, Mimi, Louisa and Liam. “Oh my gosh! So good to see you guys” She said hugging all of them. “I've missed you guys so much”
“I know, we've missed you too” Louisa said
They all came inside and talked to everyone. Soon everyone was at the house.
“Where's the graduate?” Meryl asked
“She's upstairs with Jenn” Kenzie said. Jenn came down the stairs smiling
“Are you guys ready to see her?”
“Yeah” Everybody said in unison
“Alright! Come on Olivia” As soon as she said that Olivia came around the corner and smiled. Everyone was shocked by her beauty. Her long blonde hair in curls and that dress was gorgeous on her. Kenzie remembered her first prom. She looked just as stunning
~~~~Olivia's first prom~~~~
Everyone was waiting for Olivia to come downstairs. She wouldn't let anyone see her until she came down.
“Hurry up Olivia” Kenzie yelled up the stairs
“Hold on a second”
“She sure does know how to make us wait” Meryl said
“I wonder where she gets that from” Carter said with a smirk
“Shut up!” Kenzie scowled at him but turned her attention towards the stairs when they heard her walking down the stairs. She came to the landing and stood there all smiles. Everyone started taking pictures.
“Gorgeous just like your mother” Don said with a smile
Olivia smiled “Thanks, Grandpa” She came the rest of the way down the stairs and hugged everyone.
“Where's your date?” Grace asked
“Oh I don't have one. I'm just gonna go with a bunch of friends”
“Oh well that's always fun” Grace said
“Yeah!”
“Alright group photo” Meryl called out. Everyone formed around the living room and Meryl set the timer on the camera and ran to her spot. It took the picture and then Olivia was off to her first prom.

Kenzie put a hand over her mouth and began to cry.
“And so it begins” Josh said.
“Shut up” Jenn said smacking his chest
“You look amazing” Meryl said and hugged her grand daughter tight
“Thank you, Grandma” Olivia said with a smile
“Go give your mother a hug”
Olivia looked at her sobbing mother and couldn't help but almost cry with her. She quickly walked over to her and wrapped her arms around her, making Kenzie cry even more. Olivia couldn't hold it in anymore her tears were flowing down her cheeks now.
“Your making me cry now.” Olivia said
“I can't help it” Kenzie wiped her eyes and smiled at her daughter “I love you”
“I love you too!” Olivia turned to her Dad and hugged him. He kissed the top of her head then there was a tap on Olivia's leg. She looked down and smiled at her brother.
“Pretty” He said. Everyone smiled and giggled a little. Olivia picked him up and kissed him on the cheek
“Thanks bud”
“Elcome” Olivia went around the room and talked to her aunts and Uncle.
“You did a good job of raising her” Don said
“Thanks, Dad”
“You're welcome” He hugged her and went off to talk to the others. Kenzie watched her beautiful daughter smile and laugh. She never grew tired of her smile. Carter wrapped his arms around Kenzie.
“You okay?” Carter asked
“Yeah! Hard to believe she's about to graduate and going to be eighteen in a couple weeks”
“I know! She's grown up into a beautiful young lady”
Kenzie smiled “Yes she has” Kenzie sighed “I wouldn't be here to see this if it weren't for her”
Carter tightened his grip on her. He hated when she would say stuff like that. He didn't want to be reminded of that year of hell “Let's not think of that. You are here and that's what matters”
Kenzie faced him “I love you!” She kissed him
“I love you too” He kissed her back.
“Mom we should get going” Olivia said
Kenzie looked at the clock “I guess we should” Kenzie got Logan around and soon everyone was already out the door. Kenzie grabbed her purse and accidentally knocked a picture down. She picked it up, it was a picture of Olivia and Kenzie on her sixteenth birthday party. She smiled and tears instantly fell from her cheeks. Suddenly someone honked the horn and yelled “LET'S GO” Kenzie wiped her tears away and put the picture back. She looked at it again and thought of how proud she was of her daughter. She ran out to the car and went to Olivia's big day.

Kenzie looked around for his luggage “Where's your stuff?”
“Oh! It's at Mom's. I'll be staying there”
“Oh okay”
“Where's my nephews and niece?”
“Olivia is upstairs with Jenn getting ready and the other two are in the living room”
“Ahh! Well I shall go see them” Henry walked towards the living room “Where's is my little nephew at?” Henry called out and entering into the living room
Logan smiled and stood up “Ree” He ran up to Henry and hugged him “Mished oo”
“I've missed you too, bud” Henry looked at Josh “Hi Josh”
“Hi Uncle Henry”
“How are you doing in LA?”
“Good! I love it out there”
“That's good! I knew you would” Henry said with a smile
“Yeah except now he's further away from me” Kenzie whined
“Well I can't stay here forever, Mom. You still have a lot of years left with Logan.”
“I know but still”
“I can already tell she's going to be a basket case” Henry said
“No kidding.” Josh said
“Hey! Shut up” Kenzie said
Henry laughed “Oh stop! We're just picking”
“Nothing new there” Kenzie said. The door bell rang again and this time it was Mamie, Mimi, Louisa and Liam. “Oh my gosh! So good to see you guys” She said hugging all of them. “I've missed you guys so much”
“I know, we've missed you too” Louisa said
They all came inside and talked to everyone. Soon everyone was at the house.
“Where's the graduate?” Meryl asked
“She's upstairs with Jenn” Kenzie said. Jenn came down the stairs smiling
“Are you guys ready to see her?”
“Yeah” Everybody said in unison
“Alright! Come on Olivia” As soon as she said that Olivia came around the corner and smiled. Everyone was shocked by her beauty. Her long blonde hair in curls and that dress was gorgeous on her. Kenzie remembered her first prom. She looked just as stunning

Everyone was waiting for Olivia to come downstairs. She wouldn't let anyone see her until she came down.
“Hurry up Olivia” Kenzie yelled up the stairs
“Hold on a second”
“She sure does know how to make us wait” Meryl said
“I wonder where she gets that from” Carter said with a smirk
“Shut up!” Kenzie scowled at him but turned her attention towards the stairs when they heard her walking down the stairs. She came to the landing and stood there all smiles. Everyone started taking pictures.
“Gorgeous just like your mother” Don said with a smile
Olivia smiled “Thanks, Grandpa” She came the rest of the way down the stairs and hugged everyone.
“Where's your date?” Grace asked
“Oh I don't have one. I'm just gonna go with a bunch of friends”
“Oh well that's always fun” Grace said
“Yeah!”
“Alright group photo” Meryl called out. Everyone formed around the living room and Meryl set the timer on the camera and ran to her spot. It took the picture and then Olivia was off to her first prom.
End flashback
Kenzie put a hand over her mouth and began to cry.
“And so it begins” Josh said.
“Shut up” Jenn said smacking his chest
“You look amazing” Meryl said and hugged her grand daughter tight
“Thank you, Grandma” Olivia said with a smile
“Go give your mother a hug”
Olivia looked at her sobbing mother and couldn't help but almost cry with her. She quickly walked over to her and wrapped her arms around her, making Kenzie cry even more. Olivia couldn't hold it in anymore her tears were flowing down her cheeks now.
“Your making me cry now.” Olivia said
“I can't help it” Kenzie wiped her eyes and smiled at her daughter “I love you”
“I love you too!” Olivia turned to her Dad and hugged him. He kissed the top of her head then there was a tap on Olivia's leg. She looked down and smiled at her brother.
“Pretty” He said. Everyone smiled and giggled a little. Olivia picked him up and kissed him on the cheek
“Thanks bud”
“Elcome” Olivia went around the room and talked to her aunts and Uncle.
“You did a good job of raising her” Don said
“Thanks, Dad”
“You're welcome” He hugged her and went off to talk to the others. Kenzie watched her beautiful daughter smile and laugh. She never grew tired of her smile. Carter wrapped his arms around Kenzie.
“You okay?” Carter asked
“Yeah! Hard to believe she's about to graduate and going to be eighteen in a couple weeks”
“I know! She's grown up into a beautiful young lady”
Kenzie smiled “Yes she has” Kenzie sighed “I wouldn't be here to see this if it weren't for her”
Carter tightened his grip on her. He hated when she would say stuff like that. He didn't want to be reminded of that year of hell “Let's not think of that. You are here and that's what matters”
Kenzie faced him “I love you!” She kissed him
“I love you too” He kissed her back.
“Mom we should get going” Olivia said
Kenzie looked at the clock “I guess we should” Kenzie got Logan around and soon everyone was already out the door. Kenzie grabbed her purse and accidentally knocked a picture down. She picked it up, it was a picture of Olivia and Kenzie on her sixteenth birthday party. She smiled and tears instantly fell from her cheeks. Suddenly someone honked the horn and yelled “LET'S GO” Kenzie wiped her tears away and put the picture back. She looked at it again and thought of how proud she was of her daughter. She ran out to the car and went to Olivia's big day.
