Your friend... is there anything I need to know about him?

Not that I am willing to share with one of Shin-Ra at this time.

And I thought you weren't the jealous type, Schuldig. You needn't be so concerned; she's my subordinate, and I'm a gentleman.
... I see.

Did you really expect me to tell you anything personal about him or I? I don't mind fucking around with you, and I surely wouldn't mind being fucked by you, but when it comes to my weaknesses or my partner's, you're out. I don't trust you that far given that you've already shown me that you're willing to try to drag me in for Shin-Ra. You don't even know if this whole meeting is a trap. You could just be bait that they've tossed out to see if they can pull me in close enough to capture.

That's quite the change in tune from before, Schuldig. I distinctly recall you saying that you could trust me.
I don't want them to think you have something to hide in all this; they already wonder about your proximity, and the last thing you need is to deny them knowledge that will do nothing but get you off the hook.
I won't permit any more than that. I've already made clear the fragility of their position.

Or what? You think they'll really try to run me to ground? Or cause problems for you and Cissnei?
And if they don't listen to you?

You could just as easily take my mind and hers. You've done it before. Why do you think I'm taking the risk? And don't say it's because I'm a gullible fool again.
If they don't listen to me, it should be clear what happens thereafter. I'm a proud man.

I don't know why you are. I think that's what bothers me. Whatever bits and scraps of information I could get at Sunde really isn't worth your position and all.
That history book was very wrong then. It called you 'humble'.

It's nothing you should have difficulty identifying.
Humble? Well, how very flattering.
It doesn't take long for myths to surround men, does it?
Reply
And what's that mean? You want me loose so you can get laid?
Did you really win the war on your mind alone? Or is that made up too?
Reply
... No, that's hardly the reason.
Let me try to put it simply. Would you take advantage of my trust?
Such praise. I'm afraid I can't take all the credit for that. Admittedly, I had a strong hand in turning the battles around and building up allied forces, but without Apple or Riou, the outcome would have been very different.

Of course. If they have something planned, whether I know or not, it's an indirect betrayal of trust. What I want to know is, Schu, why you trust a Shinra employee. I'm not like Cissnei. I'm higher up, I know more of what's going on, and moreover, we've met once. But I still get the impression that you trust me and wouldn't take advantage of it to your own ends. Am I correct?
... Ah, yes. I've mentioned her in passing before. Apple is the one who is getting married.

I wouldn't take advantage of you unless I was left with no other option to preserve my own safety. I trust people, not companies, and most assuredly not those in charge of the company. I've suspected more than once that the one you call Rufus Shinra is really Brad Crawford in disguise.
Ah, the one you liked.

A company isn't much without its people. How do you make the distinction between the two? ... Or is it only the President that earns your distrust?
I suppose that's one way to put it. Have you seen her?
