1. Wind storms freak me out. I’m certain my ancestors slept in trees - where a big wind might knock them down to the ground and the nasty predators lurking about there. When it gets windy, I get nervous.

2. I still try to figure out things people said to me decades ago. For example, just today I puzzled a little more on a command from an instructor in a dance class thirty years ago - “Move as if you have energy flying out from your finger tips.” Would the streams of energy exhibit thrust - would my movement be as if I had little jet engines on my fingers? Or was I intended to imagine some kind of inertial extension to my fingers? Or would the streams of energy be like dangerous lasers - so I should be careful where I pointed them? I just don’t know. Obviously, the weird thing is that I still think about it.

3. While I was wondering about little jet engines on my fingers, I was CERTAIN everyone else in the class knew EXACTLY what it would mean to have energy streaming out of their finger tips - so I didn’t ask. I still tend to make assumptions like that.

4. When I was a kid I always hoped wild birds would spontaneously land on my finger.

5. I don’t like watery soup.

6. I’m simultaneously thrilled and intimidated by a large, blank drawing pad.

7. I enjoy a PB&J sandwich for dinner every now and then.

8. I’ve taken to wearing undersocks. Wool under wool. I can’t say enough about how much happier, dryer and warmer my feet are since discovering this secret!

9. My resting heart rate is 35 beats per minute. Hence my excitement about warm socks.

10. I’m forever fussing about how much to butt into my darling daughter’s goings-on. Wanting to give her all the space she wants, but always eager to be involved in her life. Worrying that the space feels like lack of interest… worrying that my interest feels invasive. So I was thrilled to be tagged. Thanks!

Um, so Dad. We're clearly related. I may as well have WRITTEN the responses to numbers 4-7. I used to sit in the backyard at the house on 47th and hold my finger in the air perfectly still -- reasoning that by logic, one of them was bound to land on my finger at some point. That logic never really pulled through for me, though.

As for nine -- are you a living being?? And number ten -- oh please.
